Why aren't update notes posted on Steam?

This is just kind of a random thought I have had, but when I go to launch LOTRO through Steam, I always notice that the update notes aren't there. Well, except for the last set of patch notes which was posted in September. Part of Steam's interface is that it shows what games you have that have updated recently. This is basically free advertising. So how come at least the major updates aren't posted as updates in the activity feed?

I agree. They have to be there.

SSG is not really interested in the Steam users. there is no updaes or news published for years. In addition, the Steam client always makes very often after updates problems. I hear that again and again.

The Steam client is simply a relic of the old days

This is on the list of things to do, sorry for being late in getting them posted on Steam.

These are the official forums - if you bookmark them and click on Dev Tracker you can see all developer posts including announcements and update notes in very little time at all. Well under a minute if connection speed is decent and the forums aren't lagging that day.

So any failure to put things on other channels like Steam or Facebook or Twitter shouldn't involve any chickens. No harm - no fowl.

While we are on the Release Notes subject, do you have plans to create a direct link to release notes from the main view, like we have on DDO?

I actually moved "to" Steam because I had so many issues and need to reinstall full application without it. So, not the same story here.

And if you are going to partner with Steam, you need to keep your information updated on Steam as well. If you don't, you're basically telling Steam users, "we want your money, but we don't really want to support you." If Steam users are not going to be supported fully by the partnership, that needs to be stated.

A bit of overkill here - he already said he was going to do it and said he was sorry it hadn't been gotten to earlier.

To be fair, I always find the notes here on the forums. My point is merely that it's basically free advertising. I want LOTRO to do well and having everyone's activity feed show an update notice for the expansion and/or patch is just a good way to pop the game into people's memories. It really hadn't been updated in a while so I figured I'd come suggest it

I agree - obviously he agrees. My only concern is when things go on other platforms and *don't* go here and that certainly wasn't the case here.
