Yes, I'm sure it was a bug. Sorry you lost your Undying Title.

Back when Level 75 was cap a Level 75 Salamander suddenly appeared in the Bree Craft Hall on Dwarrowdelf Server. My level 27 ish RK (I think) was killed, Retreated and ran back to heal (along with another low level healer) the Level 67-69 ish guard who would end up killing it. It was a neat occurrence.

In the future I would suggest alerting world chat and someone will one come kill it for you. You at least have a good story as to how you were defeated the first time

This also happened in the Bree Crafting hall just off from the Boar Fountain last week. Much to the dismay of many. People where entering the craft hall and being killed as soon as they entered. By the time I managed to map to Bree someone had already dispatched it but it was troublesome nonetheless.

This is a very mean-spirited act that must be discouraged; but there's a certain in-world irony in the fact that the ppl who do that are called trolls.
imagine coming home late, clothes torn, and your spouse is like, where the hell were you? and you are like, trolls played a trick on me, it was bad :'( and the spouse is like, where did that happen? and you are like, in Prancing Pony... and now you will have to sleep in the doghouse tonight

The Trolls run a secret underground gambling ring in Gandalf's Room, the missus doesn't like you throwing away all of your 500 silver on the dice.
The in world irony of a bunch of drakelings descending upon Bree to claim the lives of innocent hobbits where the guards are just normal men and can not assist you against the beasts of Mordor is pretty funny too.

And.... now every troll that reads the forums knows exactly how to do it... ::shakes head::

Hopefully, the devs jump on this quick and fix it, like they did that /bug that allowed trolls to spawn an avanc in low level areas before.

This is why we don't allow people to post exploit details on the forums, as was done earlier (and now removed). We have run a command in-game that should prevent this from happening until we are able to fix it in the next patch.

I remember one time (when the cap level was 85) that under certain circumstances, the clouds of death that get deposited around Sambrog during the boss fight, would travel with you to wherever you were before the instance..... Happened to me twice, but completely random and by accident. Usually in cases the boss was killed extremely fast, and people left the instance immediately with the clouds still active in the instance.

I entered South Bree where I was before the instance, and almost instantly two low level characters died because they came in touch with the green fog. No one was really sure what was going on and it certainly didn't seem like it was re-producable..... but then it happened again a few days later. As a level 85, the fog just..... hurt a wee bit (DoT) but to a level 15....it was deadly.

SSG probably fixed that quietly way back when, because I have not seen it since, and I ran Sambrog regularly for easy marks until level 105 or so.....

Good deal. Was hoping you'd see that post and remove it.

it was patched silently with a server script so the issue was fixed very shortly after people started talking about it. They usually only patch things this way when an immediate fix is necessary then hardcode it into the game with the next patch.
I believe the protocol with this sort of thing is to report it quietly with details on how it can be replicated and hope they don't just ban you with them assuming you used it for malicious purposes.
