Lorebook stuff in need of corrections and suggestions compiled list

Here is a list of things I have noted about the lorebook in need of corrections and requests made not yet implemented but probably should be. Some things I have dates related to when the suggestion was made or when correction needed was informed about.

Advanced Search:

(02-08-2008) Add an item filter for crafted items
(11-05-2008) missing Advanced Amulet of the Black Lynx item and recipe articles and therefor also missing from advanced search results

Page Name Errors

Naming Inconsistencies

Books 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 14 many of the chapters of each are missing the Book "X" where X is roman numeral of the book while others contain Book "X" at the beginning.

Displayed Page Names don't reflect name correctly

Angmar Deeds Category Carn Dûm (should be Carn Dûm), Barad Gúlaran (should be Barad Gúlaran), Minions of Wisdán (should be Minions of Wisdán)

There may be other accented character related displayed name errors like these elsewhere. These appear to be an issue related to the content contained within the <noedit> tags and such takes fixing it out of the player community hands leaving it to the staff to fix.

Good idea, not going to be in the upcoming update of the Lorebook. I'll put it on the task list.

This is looking like an issue that will remain in the upcoming update of the Lorebook. Will add it to the task list.

Yes, still a known issue on the list; we haven't had a chance to address it properly yet.

Don't know if anyone else is having the same problem as I am, but when I click on an item attribute to do a search it comes back with no results and tells me to broaden my search. Now I know there are items in the Lorebook with the attributes I'm looking for but if I try to use that feature, I get nothing.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Can you provide specific examples of the searches you are trying to perform. We'll take a look and see what's going on.

As a note though, the different search attributes are AND'ed together not OR'ed. e.g., Legendary AND Burgler items. That might be the confusion here.

No big deal but interesting nonetheless; some friends and I noticed some deviations between regions portrayed in the Lorebook map and other LOTRO maps available.


Eregion/Hollin Ridge/Glanduin

In-game maps:

• As in most Middle Earth maps, Hollin ridge lines up parallel with the Angle created by the joining of the Rivers Hoarwell and Bruinen, forming the River Greyflood.
• The joining of the Glanduin and the Greyflood occurs southwards about parallel with Hollin Gate, but many miles westward.

Lorebook Map:

• Hollin ridge lies well north of the Angle. This in turn pulls Redhorn pass, Hollin Gate, Sirannon, and the Glanduin further north as well.
• The Glanduin flows northwest into the Greyflood almost on top of the Bruinen, creating (2) Angles and shifting what looks like the Swanfleet marshes further north as well.
• Conclusion: To match the other maps, The Angle needs to be shortened where it narrows as it comes parallel to Hollin Ridge, not parallel to Hollin Gate. Glanduin would need to be turned west to meet Greyflood, not northwards to meet the Bruinen.

Lothlorien

In-game maps:

• Lothlorien connects to Moria at its eastern end. The Anduin bends westward to meet the forest before curving back eastward as it flows south to Emyn Muil. Gladden Fields are shown, but no River Gladden, sadly.

Lorebook Map:

• There is a large strange gap between the East Gate of Moria and the East Gate in the Lothlorien zone. This gap pushes the Anduin far eastward of its proper course, heading southeast for miles before suddenly swinging westward again to meet the forest.
• Conclusion: To match the map, this gap would need to be closed. This will pull the Anduin back to it's intended course.

We've seen the lorebook google map change to meet new content (e.g. Forochel) so we wondered if these geographical changes were intended to remain and the game world shifted to match or if it's just a placeholder till new rivers and mountains are drawn.
