Question So, I've looked all over the Lorebook...

...and can't for the life of me find a link to this new interactive map. I've seen people post in the feedback forum about it, see the link to the pic of it, but can't find the actual thing; can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong, or where I might find it?

    Thanks

You can find it at http://lorebook.lotro.com/wiki/Special:Interactivemap, also as an item under the "Game Info" menu, near the bottom after "Creatures >>>".

Yeah, the "monsters" filter is a very heavy JS result; lots o' monsters and their spawn points being returned. We've toyed with the idea of forcing you to enter something into the text field filter to narrow the results down when "monsters" is checked. Either that or working in pagination overall to the results returned.

Both have their UI issues, so we're exploring which will work best or if we can find a third alternative.

You can force a Google Map to return no more than a set max ceiling on results for a specific area. This is typically set at 50. As a person zooms in, 50 results are returned for whatever view a person is looking at -- at maximum zoom, all results for whatever area a person can see are displayed.

Anyway, I have no desire to wade through all like seven or so of the javascripts that you reference on the page to see which one's running your interactive Google Map and how you choose to code it, but the Google Maps API should provide you with the information that you need to implement a ceiling on results returned, if that's the route you want to use. You'd want to look at the GMarkerManager class.
As a level 1 burglar, Bilbo got a pony when he joined the Smaug The Dragon raid. Then he asked for leadership, looted the chest, assigned himself the 1st age Arkenstone and mailed it to an alt (Bilbo's a VIP so can mail from anywhere). They did some PvMP and an Epic Battle, then he apologized and gave the Arkenstone back because it wasn't BoA. He kept the pony.
