Is anyone else experiencing issues with the player feed? Mine doesn't seem to be working.

I can't recall the last time it worked. The Wall on Facebook seems to indicate it stopped working around the 22nd of June?

How about you stop playing around with Facebook, and fix this POS site you've stuck us with? Hmmm? Please? Preatty please, with a giant dollop of "*** were you thinking?" on top?

    This is ridiculous.

Considering it been a week, and i have to say the new forum totally are lame. I would guess they don't have the same web page person any more. Whoever decided to come up with this lame excuse for a forums page well, they need to be sent to a different department, as they are not competent enough.

A week and we still have almost the same issues as day one. Web pages that load like your on a 28k modem. White bars at the top. Missing characters. Cant post in some places still. So many issues.

The sad thing is nothing seams to be getting fixed. This should be something they should remember try not to change so much at one time, it will bite you like a snake, and it sure did this time. They honestly have to many fires to put out right now, gosh knows when things are going to get back to normal.

I sure wish they would re-consider the forums and alt least change those back to the prior version until they can get in game issues fixed. At least that would take about 30% of the load of the fixes they would have to worry about.

What exactly does this have to do with the Facebook feed?

I know we're going for a new look, but these new forums are horrible. The pages load slowly, when they load at all. Links are often missing, or lead to a blank page. Moving page to page often required me to log in again, and using the forums after causes IE errors, and I have to close all tabs losing all my active work on items in other tabs. To top all else off, the new forums are a resource hog, and therefore difficult for my business computers, and other portable electronic devices.

Pretty is nice, I guess, but what we had before functioned quite well. Can we go back to the old forums, at least until the current ones work? I used to spend many hours daily here, but now avoid the forums ….

Again, what does this have to do with the Facebook app? There are plenty of threads about the forum design. This is not one of them.

The last post on the Facebook Feed page was 8 weeks ago:

    http://www.facebook.com/apps/applica...d=169804328332
Thank you for the reports with issues with the LOTR Player Feed. The Free to Play launch of LOTR included many changes, and the data we use for the feed has been moved .In order to support the F2P LOTRO the application is being updated, and will remain inaccessible for a couple of weeks while we work to fix it.
    How many is a couple?

Gharet posted in another thread that it's on his list, but there are a lot of other things he's got to do right now.

If that's the case, perhaps Gharet could have taken a minute or two out of the past 10 weeks to post in this thread and on the Facebook application page itself that it's going to be more than "a couple of weeks".

How do you make this player feed work? Facebook mentions a database error when trying to look at its LOTRO Player Feed page.

    Re: LOTRO Player Feed Fedback.

It hasn't worked since the community site "upgrade" last fall, that's why you're seeing that error. I hope they can fix it, the player feed is one FB application I don't want to ditch.

In case of failed logins, the captcha that is supposed to show up sometimes doesnt display correctly or not at all. Reinstalling java fixed the issue for me. Support now knows of the fix and will hopefully improve on the login. I think the captcha only shows up after some failed logins?

    AAArg! Fest hell.

    1) Umm, why discontinue the treasure without notice? Or is that just how it is done? Stuck with hundreds of chest clogging tokens. So I hold them in the hopes for another event where these tokens mean something? Swell, more bag clogging.

    2) Replaced it with a completely unrewarding fall fest, so mad at the start of this fest I will not participate. I can't imagine that is the desired result. First impression, major disappointing time waste. What the hell is supposed to be in the house crammed full of people, I have no idea and will not be finding out.

    3) Why is there no break in these events?

    4) How about some planned spacing and actually stick to a schedule?

In general, I now know why experienced players tend to shun your fests. time spent = fail.

Perhaps you didn't know, but there actually is a calendar posted that shows the schedule for events. You'll find the link at the top on one of the tabs, or you can click on this link:
    http://forums.lotro.com/calendar.php

Once there you'll notice that the treasure hunt ended right when it was scheduled and that the harvestmath festival started right when it was scheduled. No surprises there. In fact, in the past the treasure hunt has only shown up as a surprise, and only lasted for a couple of days. This time it was actually scheduled, posted on the calendar, and lasted for a week. And it will be returning at some point so you will get to use those tokens.

As for the harvest fest- Bilbo's cellar is absolutely worth exploring. Of all the festival events, it may be one of the best things to do- if not the very best one. You'll be missing on quite a treat if you ignore it.

Yes I may have selected the wrong thread. Oh well. Thanks for directing me to the calender.
I don't know what Bilbo's cellar was supposed to have, I don't know that I will be finding out either.

Well, as long as this thread has been inadvertently resurrected...

Whatever happened to the LOTRO player feed thingy? My FB is still showing the app.

This hasn't been used in quite some time. I'm not sure why you're still seeing it. Going to close this as the thread is no longer relevant.
