Any chance of this ever happening? We can already get stats and equipment about any player, but it would also be nice to get all the details of the LIs on that character: legacies and their tiers, relics, etc.
Thanks,
Harl

Mis-adventure is better than no adventure at all!
Can we have access to that player's class, legendary, and virtue traits as well? How about the contents of their bank chests and bags, too? How about their quest log and /played time, and kin chat logs while we're at it?
/sarcasmoff
What I instead would like is a real Anonymous mode, so Joe Blow can't see every little thing about my character. It's why I'm anonymous in-game, too...

Just to counter the epeen comment. We would use this info to automatically qualify characters for raids. I could give a rodents backside what someone's stats are outside the fact that there are certain reqs we have for raiding. Having this info available in this manner would allow us to qualify LIs w/o having to meet up in game and inspect. Just a time saver, really.

Well, I sat down in front of my hacking tool (computer), opened up my phishing assistance tool (web browser), and went to the complaint tool (forums) of my favorite child neglect tool (MMO), and decided to write a post in a hate speech language (English), regarding an epeen measuring tool (my.lotro.com).
See? If you try hard enough, you can take any tool or utility, pick the worst possible way you can use it, and choose to describe it as that!

I can't see the big deal about being anonymous. For me it is a waste of the few seconds it takes to go tick that box. Why do it? This isn't a game where you are going to constantly get eletist nitwits commenting on how their gear is better than yours and you have the lowest traits ... ever! And if that one person (I've yet to meet them) does... just block them.
Or do some people think they have some big secret on their setup they must hide from the general public at large?
Now online status in game... maybe I can understand that. But someone can still see that you are online if you are standing in front of them.
As for a waste of money. I regard something that can generate social interaction and a plethora of tools to involve players in the game and help grow the community a completely legitimate use of money. I'm actually frustrated they don't to far more opening up of their internal systems.
There are already great tools that I use that have been built with the API and even some that are built by hand getting the information from the website and game.
Opening up the API (imho) to a wider set of data could be one of the strongest things Turbine could do for the LotRO game community.

Meh... got something really secret to hide? I doubt you have some massive secret setup that nobody else hasn't already thought of.
I'd be more worried about having a Facebook profile that everyone might get to see right now than a LotRO one.
I doubt the chat logs would leak. Even if they do you should be prepared for it to accidentally leak. It is the internet right. If you expect perfect privacy then I'm sorry to inform you that it can't happen.
I agree that an attempt should be made to have a working anonymous option if *really* required. But I don't see what the fuss is about personally. If you want perfect cloaking then equally those who do want to share their trait setups etc should they not be able to?
I am quite open with my characters not because I want to show off (quite the opposite if you do check out my setups! lol) but rather it may help someone in some small way starting the game to compare their setup. If I can help one person in the game then I've helped the game community.
I'm prepared to be wrong but I've yet to hear a legitimate excuse to hide your characters gear and traits that I agree with.
