    Re: LOTRO Lottery Feedback

    Question 1

If you could add any item to the lotteries, what would you add? List 3 items.
    1. Lottery for lvl 30-40 specific with a regular mount to win; higher level characters probably already have at least one, someone boasted of having several spring horses from lottery- what's the point?
    2. Level dependent (or independent) lotteries with crafting mats, like bronze ingots, or khazad copper, something rare
    3. Housing and cosmetic items, never enough of them, but NOT BoA for God's sake

    Question 2

Which lottery did you enjoy the most?
All of them, though I value mostly useful items, skirmish marks, cakes, not stacks of fireworks.

    Question 3

What Holidays (real or lore based) do you think should have their own lotteries?
Apart from the existing seasonal , hmm, I think mostly lore ones as there are different people playing from different countries, so real ones might be hard to choose to satisfy everyone.

    Re: LOTRO Lottery Feedback

I enjoy all the Lotteries and I think they are very creative. The only thing I would like to see is more high level items drop from the high level boxes. Lotteries don't come that often and the good items such as symbols could be more plentiful. Also, when the reward is food or tokens it would be nice if they were in an amount more than one.

    Re: LOTRO Lottery Feedback

The lottery rules good job guys

    I would like to see:

Moria Class items - Platinum Coin of Spirit & Platinum Coin of Heart (the harder ones to get)

Moors specific items, like tokens of valour, tyrants lash & other moors enhancing gear

Housing deco, I'm a huge fan of housing deco and any of the rarer deco or some new ones would be great

Fireworks - Not the normal plain fireworks, those fancy tree ones and others like that if they exists, fireworks are always great

    Thank You

    Question 3

What Holidays (real or lore based) do you think should have their own lotteries?

    2) Crafting items based on character's profession
    3) Tokens for unique skills based on character class (such as travel to the festival grounds for hunters or unique instrument proficiencies for minnies)

    Question 3

Ok not sure if it was mentioned other than legendary weapons class specific. I recieved a scholar bag (the highest lvl one) on my armorer it was of no use to me. All items that are for a specific class or crafting class should be specific to the class.

    Re: LOTRO Lottery Feedback

I just thought of some other items that would be great to have in the lottery:

For under level 50 characters (I think there was a level requirement unless it was removed) - the rewards from doing the Forochel quests for each class npc. (Ex: the feign dead item, the summon item, etc...)

Drownholt Compasses - I love these tracking devices, but they seem to be a one-time reward.

The special mitigation potions that were only available with the Moria pre-order tokens (I think there was fire, lightning, etc...)

Farming crit dye/paint materials (ie: iris roots, juicy strawberries, etc.)

Weekly class specific lottery: Add a lottery for items useful to one class each week and cycle through them all

Weekly crafting profession specific lottery: Assuming you can sort players by crafting profession like you can class, it would be nice to have assortments of materials as a prize.

Rep items: probably already mentioned, but rewards for level appropriate characters would be nice, especially the bound ones like gold leaves, arnorian armour fragments, etc.

    Re: LOTRO Lottery Feedback

    Question 1

If you could add any item to the lotteries, what would you add? List 3 items.

    1) A port potion that ports you to: a) your birth town (like Bree, etc). b) the nearest location with a stable master. c) a selection of near and/or far areas.

    2) Some people have really bad lottery luck. To help better their chances, send in game mails to ONLY those accounts who have never won any lottery to help them get involved with the system - if they choose that is.

    3) Run speed potions.

    Question 2

Which lottery did you enjoy the most?

    1) The ones that give items we can use in the game, but may not be expected - like shards and some others like that that are not expected.

    Question 3

What Holidays (real or lore based) do you think should have their own lotteries?

    1) Something that boosts the interest of the holidays within the game.

    2) Be nice to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in a fun way with brews that do a variety of things: a) turn players into Lepercons. b) port players, and/or their fellowship, to a selection of options, and/or the nearest stable master, and/or the nearest safe circle of stones. c) call a horse (or a unicorn) to one's side which will take the player to the nearest stable master, and/or a variety of already mentioned other options. d) turn the player's armour (or individual armour items) a variety of shades of green, and/or with green shamrocks (4 leaf clovers). e) turns player's face green. f) enlarges player's eyes and turns them green.

Thank you for asking and for all the work you do to make LoTRO a fun game that is safe from spammers and players who really do not appreciate or respect the game.

    Re: LOTRO Lottery Feedback

Some constructive feedback (I hope). This is about the Winning Entries box. it does not display correctly in every browser I've tried (Firefox 1.x, 2.x, IE7, IE8, Opera, Chrome and Safari). It's reached a point where I have so many 'Winning Entries' that I've reached HTML's limitation for a scroll box. My last viewable winning entry was last month, I know I've won at least once more since then and I can see part of another winning entry below that one. I have no idea who it is as I can't scroll that far. So I propose this:

    http://my.lotro.com/<username>:
    • Only show winnings for last 3 lotteries. This would reduce this box to a manageable load.
    • Provide a link to a seperate page to view all winning entries across all toons attached to account.

    http://my.lotro.com/characters/<world>/<Character Name>/lottery
    • Continue showing winning entries, available entries and entered entries.
    • Put a limit on the winning entry box to kick over and provide a link when the box becomes too full to view all entries.

Or a different idea, offer a tree-style view to break down the winning entries

    • +/- Date
      • +/- World
        • +/- Character
          • +/- Winning dates, reverse chronological order

I'm not sure if the above idea's have been discussed as I didn't read all 15 pages of posts but I am fairly sure this idea has been discussed, just list the entries in reverse chronological order for X entries and push the rest out of that box but preserve some kind of history management.

    Re: LOTRO Lottery Feedback

"any and every US and Canadia non-religious holiday. Everything from the Super Bowl, Hot Dog Eating World Championship, St Patty's Day, National School Nurse Day (that's today)... from sillier holidays like that to more traditional holidays like Thanksgiving Day and Canadia Thanksgiving Day."
    No no no!
This game is already massively US centric. Keep it the holidays to lore holidays. As it is if you live outside of North America you feel like a dirty little cheat for even being part of the community. BTW St Patrick's day is Irish and is certainly religious not American and secular.

Also i'm puzzled... why not make lotto entry autromatic? That will pick up the players who don't enter/ don't know how to. having it as an opt in model is yet another way to make the game less newb friendly.

    Re: LOTRO Lottery Feedback

I am unable to enter any lotteries on any of my characters. I receive a message that I have no eligible characters when in fact I DO. I submitted a ticket and received this response:

The Lottery system is still in a beta phase, and errors may occur. As a result, we are unable to provide any support at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please visit the Lottery Feedback & Information section of the official forums for more information. - +Tiarnach+

This lottery system has been in beta phase for about a year or so now? Why continue to offer something this long if it still doesn't work properly? Even more irritating is that I cannot get any support. I have entered lotteries several times in the past with no issue, so I'm curious as to why it does not work for me now or is that to be filed under "beta phase"

    Thank you.

The Lottery FAQ and Known Issues are stickied at the top of the page.

In almost every case when you see no lottery you are eligible to enter it is one of three reasons (all listed in the aforementioned FAQ).

    • There are no lotteries running at that moment, but there may be some starting shortly.
    • Any lotteries currently running have requirements your characters do not meet (Level, race, class, etc).
    • You fall under one of the Known issues.
