Valentines day? 14 inches of snow so far in NW Indiana and still falling. Our work place shut down totally until Friday...anyone else getting any of the cold white stuff?

Chicago has 19 inches so far...we are about 40 minutes away.

Im actually just outside Indianapolis, and what we got here, was not as bad as some of the country, but I spent almost 2 hours this morning trying to clear off my blazer. It was a solid sheet of ice over an inch thick. Even broke my scraper trying to clear it off. Brought a chunk of it off the roof to show the wife, cuz she's been whining that "it's not that bad"(mind you she hasn't left the house in 3 days) :P

Hope those that are getting the really bad stuff take care of yourself.

Snow? None last night....too cold. But we have well over 200" so far this year.

I have a pile of about 48-60 inches high, and about 60 inches wide, of snow in my driveway, preventing me from backing out our second car. there's probably a good 48 inches in the section of ground between the sidewalk and the street.

Sunday through Tuesday of this week we got another 3-7 inches. I think I moved about 5 off the sidewalks and driveway (well, the part of the driveway I could).

Yes, I'm sick of it.

We got 12 inches of snow over the past two days. We've had no school Tuesday and Wednesday, and tomorrow is a definite maybe. I'm lovin' it.

It has. Global warming doesn't mean that the whole earth turns warm and cozy ... though the average temperature has risen a degree or two, and polar bears and seals are in big trouble because they're losing their ice floes to rest on, and out near Australia there's coral dying because the water has gotten too warm for them.

Global warming means there is more ENERGY being pumped into the entire weather system. It's winter, where you used to get ordinary blizzards*. you now get SuperMegablizzards. Wait till summer and let us know how the global warming is affecting you.

*Although to this Californian "ordinary blizzards" sounds like a contradiction in terms.

Interestingly enough, the ice is actually getting thicker at the North Pole. Which is where the polar bears are.

I won't derail further into a political debate, though.

We got 14 inches of snow where I live in Oklahoma. We broke at least four records with that mini blizzard. Thankfully, unlike the ice storm of a couple of years ago where my family was out of power for a week, we still have power. Much of the city is shut down and I expect it will remain so as none of the snow is due to melt until the weekend when the temperature is finally due to rise above the teens for the high. But I stocked up on food before the storm hit so I'm perfectly content to remain at home and rejoice at the heat and electricity.

It's a frigid 75 here today. I wore my shorts and a t-shirt in to work today. I would have worn my skivvies, but the boss frowns on that.

LoL. Seems like there is a number of us down here in "frigid Florida". Hit 80 in my part of the state yesterday (west side of Disney). Cracks me up though when it hits the 50's and the Floridians really do start pulling out parkas, when I'm often standing there in shorts or light pants and a t-shirt.

We're heading to the water parks on Saturday. Should be in the mid 60's to low 70's with heated water. Going to be a good time.

If I could give negative reputation you would be the one.

Guess there are a few of us you have to hit. hehe. Here's a little consolation- it did actually snow here last January- just a light dusting that was gone when it hit the ground. But it does rarely happen.

Damn snow. I just got back to Mass after a week in Key West where it was 75 degrees and warm and just overall great weather. I need to move to Florida.

On one positive note it is a balmy 41 degrees today. More snow coming....yay...

I like the snow for December and then I'm soo over it. I don't ski, sled, tobaggon, snowshoe
or dog sled race. I'm lucky enough to live in an area where we've had about 130 inches of snow since December.

For MLKJr Day my wife & I and our daughter & son-in-law, took our 3-year-old grandson to see snow for the first time. Four hour drive to Yosemite. Maybe 4-5 ft. on the ground, clear, sunny, mid-50s... We keep our snow in the mountains, where it belongs.
