I must say that after a while here on Imladris I'm really LOVING the small town feel and community. What I would really love would be for Turbine to allow some incoming transfers. In no way do I want to take over the server, take over the Moors or accomplish a server first raid wise, I just have a few toons whose ./played is measured in months rather than weeks or days that I would LOVE to have here on Imladris,
I 100% understand that they wish to preserve server integrity, and for the most part agree with it too. I also understand that Imladris is the smallest server in the game and could benefit from an influx of toons, besides with the ability to pretty much buy perfect weapons in the store now game integrity is a moot point.
With the time invested in my characters I have no issues with the transfer price, its 100% worth it, even a longer wait is worth it, Im just hoping to someday play these toons in my new home. Imposing some kind of server residency requirement is one way of stopping random transfers even, for instance, I have been playing on Imladris long enough to casually level an RK almost to 65, so this is no drunken kin idea where we all decide to transfer to a server on the spur of the moment.
I have no real desire to return to my native server, my ignore list is a mile long, GLFF reads like broken chat since I have most of the mouth pieces ignored which is sometimes worse than having no ignore list.
With Hele and Annuminas armour so easily acquired, none of my older toons will be at any sort of gear advantage, with the new LI system none of my older toons will have a weapon advantage, but with rare titles such as Fool and Fathomer of Riddles and not to mention years worth of casually acquired rep I would rather have these toons with me than to roll copies.
With the new WB Turbine all about making a buck (ie the new store items) a sure fire way to make some easy cash is transfers, Im sure the powers that be can come up with a system for transfers to the new servers and still keep them somewhat fresh smelling.
Something to think about.
