Re: Will EU players ever see their Character Settings?

June, July, August, September - ok four months - my sucky maths - but they still knew the transfer was coming a while before it happened. Indeed a while before we knew what was going on ourselves. Anyway my point is that it has been long enough. Too long.

you all set the bar too high.

they knew f2p was coming and planned new community sites a while before it happened.
yet they cannot get the community sites out of beta after a year.
the sites as a whole are slow, laggy and 'glitchy'.

and yet you expect them to get a feature you want working after only 4 short months?

you ask too much of mere mortals.

it will be fixed when its fixed.

The thing is though I'm not waiting for someone to weed my garden as a favour. I am a customer of LOTRO and I'm waiting and waiting for things that are part of a package I have already paid for - which is why "it will be done when it's done" does not cut it. I don't expect to walk into a bakery, pay for my sandwhich and still be waiting four months later for half the bread and some of the pickles.

but you forget, the community sites are separate from the game and are a no cost freebie.

no one has EVER paid for any of these sites.

even if you stopped playing lotro and uninstalled the game and didnt spend another dime on subs or TP or expacs, you would still be able to use these sites as long as they are operating.

so ya, this is a favour being done for you by turbine - the forums, lorebook and mylotro

May I direct you to this page

    http://www.lotro.com/free.php?

If you scroll down you will see that "community features" is listed there as one of the things they are promoting the game on the basis of.

If it is included in the game world or not they promote MyLOTRO as part of the game. You have to have a game account of some kind to use MyLOTRO. It is a service available and working for some of their customers yet totally broken and non functional to others. It seems to be largely us EU migrants who are affected and I don't like the way we are being left as second class customers. Get everything working equally and properly for all your customers. That has to be the priority and Turbine are simply not putting the resources into doing it. If they want to build an expansion pack fine but have enough people on board to fix the things you already have that just don't work. They are ticking off a huge number of customers that they really needed to spend these first few months impressing because very few people I know were happy about the transfer (and those that were seemed to be glad mostly on the basis of finally getting MyLOTRO).

just because they are promoting it as a feature does not mean it is something you paid for.

just like how they are promoting certain features coming next tuesday with ROI that are free to everyone whether they buy it or not.

they have had issues with the community sites that effect ALL players since long before you all ever came over.
    you all aint special.

the community sites are in BETA and as everyone knows features in beta can/will/do have issues.
this happens to be one of these BETA issues
it has nothing to do with where you are from as a player.
these sites are still in beta after a year and guess what?

things in betas do not always work right.

and give me a break on this 2nd class frell every time something doesnt work for EU.
that is whining at its worse.

Well i believe it was not BETA before the EU servers came here. Then Turbine broke the system and because of that they pasted the BETA sign on the pages. BETA is just being used instead of Sorry we broke things.

The forums and mylotro have been BETA since F2P started LAST SEPTEMBER. They still don't work properly, even when Turbine has had a little over a year to work on them.

People have been asking them to fix them for a long time. Its going to get fixed when they decide to fix it.

<-------- I'm being nice. I can come up with worse, but I might get banned. I didn't make this image. If you want to blame someone, blame the guy who made it. I don't know who made it, I pulled it of a reply to a thread awhile ago.

the weird thing is the data service does work, it doesn't work properly on MyLotro, as the data service does work on our Kin's website when pulling up the info for our characters I suspect that they haven't installed the right hamsters for the forum.......

    This would be inaccurate.

For those of you stil not seeing your char in mylotro:
Try accsessing the lorebook from inside the game with the character you would like to see on Mylotro and poof there it is. Ive only done it on my low level guard when i tried finding the bug report toll (yeah i know its /bug now ) and its the only char viewable in the characters section. All others report a "an erroc occoured," as the guard did before i did this.
