It's not really that uncommon to have over 100 people raided up in the 'Moors at one time on my server. No less than there are in Bree most of the time, and that town commands it's own instance. Why couldn't the same potentially be done for a PvMP zone (doesn't necessarily have to be Bree, anywhere would be nice).

Really? You're saying that a company who runs a world wide MMORPG, under the Tolkien IP, with the support of Warner Brothers can't pay or spare 29 people for 2 hours once every 6 months or so? I suppose that's not terribly surprising.

Its not just the 2 hours, its the prep ahead of time, its the testing ahead of time (haha yes that is a funny joke) and figuring out how to run the 'events' assuming all the GMs now arent all in Bombay.

Once every 6 months would be pathetic (same #### happened on UO after the 'goodtimes' ended, when half the players showed up for the few events looking for something (ANYTHING) new to do in the game).

Put the effort into turning things like that into large multiplayer skirmishes that can be redone on automatic all day long would probably be better (and they wont be doing that either even if you have to buy it in th TP store).

Employees to run the things is just too risky/expensive and not in their business plans.

pvp in an other area than Ettenmoors would be nice.
russians servers do that (forochel and eregion)
    however, everyone knows the downside.
not everyone has highend computers, and there will be massive lag.

    • Three of them in the shire? Check.
    • Thorog guarding the approach to Rivendell? Check.
    • Bree laid waste by dozens of warg riders, orcs and hundreds of level 200 squirrels? Check!
    • Turbine Employees running amok in the moors on 2 million HP creeps? Check!

Beta events are a free for all because ultimately there is no risk of live data being corrupted, destroyed, lost, or other issues that may cause a player to lose items or progress.

And yes, it would be nice to see some random events. They let loose on Bullroarer, and although I understand that is a beta server, it would be nice to see some fun stuff on other servers.
I wasn't around for Amarthiel and the random attacks on Trestlebridge, but that would definitely break the monotone of end-game in this game. I've gotten to the point where I can't even stand questing, or running instances, need something new.
The area I am talking about is the Moors area. Not the whole game. In the Moors tend to be 25 or more in Dead zone. Mostly USA 11pm to 5am. 75 in the day time in the Moors.

Give or take 50 Creeps Freeps on each server. Could run PVMP server. I just useing the Low end to prove a prove a point.

I loved the beta events I got to participate in, hopefully I'll be able to take part in future betas and their events.

Perhaps Turbine could consider not requiring the beta tester flag for the end-of-beta events?.. Anyone who'd acquired and patched up fully could participate!

Right...as 10,000 people try to log in at the last minute... Yes...that's going to work real well...
