Lol seriously, did you not read the dev diary and Sapience's clarification in the discussion thread?
My last few posts have said the same think various ways.
Unless turbine changed tracks in the last two weeks or made a mistake and forgot to remove them, there will be no quests or instances that give DP. At all. ONLY leveling. According to their own community rep and dev diary.

Maybe there will be some tokens or something that will give us DP points, like the tokens you get now that we use to increase item exp.
Now on the other hand if leveling is the only way to get DP, what will stop players from creating 5 alts, milk them to level 20 (easy to get) achieve 20 levels of extra DP, delete the character and repeat, repeat and repeat. It will be stupid but heck if it works.....

lol nice. I'm going to tie that into my Elf Hunters back story. He was 'created' when a stray Penetrating Shot ricocheted (what the heck is the past tense for ricochet? lol) off a wheel barrel, pierced through a mans trousers... and further into an innocent bystanding Elvish Princess.![]()

I think I have around 430k DPs. I have never found any good use for them. All that is anywhere near good, is ridiculously expensive. Others are just marginal help and not worth it. That dread removal could be nice, but for that are minnies and tokens.
Even more I wonder if anyone actually will level a toon to 20 just to get more DPs. :O
You wont get any workable amount of DP. It has been stated that the DP functionality is intended to be pratically slashed from the game. The only method to gain DP in the future will be the few from level-ups and a few special grants; I believe it surmounts to something like 12.000 DP possible per char.
It was further stated that new ways to give VIPs the equivalent of DP buffs were "looked into". To my knowledge, no new word on that.
People.
DP will be all but gone. There will be no ways except the puny few from levelling and grants to get DP. So if you have less than 50 or 100k save it for blue XP and runspeed or whatever.
Here is the actual clarification:

It is supposed to be replaced with an as-of-yet unnamed system. We´ll see.
If you read the link I gave, it will show that Sapience says quite clearly that it will be replaced, and that the perks will not be store-only. Thats not really an ambiguous statement, before someone jumps in presents all the other cases where Turbine might have or have not broken any promises.
Again, anything else on these supposed "new ways" before we have any information is pure speculation. For myself, I have decided to allow for 4 weeks of waiting until a new way is presented and will make a continuing subscription based on that. Though I´d actually trade the whole DP stuff for a wholly different VIP bonus if it satisfies me, or even a more regular release schedule that is accessible for subscribers.

Got to respect your patience, I'm still annoyed they are basically removing a VIP feature when they haven't even given an IDEA of how it will be replaced. It will be months at the minimum before an entirely new system could be implemented, so why remove DP now? Because people without huge stores will be given the choice of doing without or paying at the store. It's a transparent cash grab barely concealed by a barely related change (new PvP currency). If not, they could have left destiny points in pve quests and instances.
