I downloaded and installed the app, but it will not launch.

My files were successfully verified and scanned. The error message simply states that it isn't working because of a problem. The details appear to be written in code.

    I'm running OS 10.6.8 on a macbook.

I love playing on the WinXP partition but it sometimes crashes due to some audio driver error that I have not been able to resolve completely. I'd love for this app to work so I can get rid of that partition and play more LOTRO!

BTW: Just a great game in general, a joy to play. The music, graphics, everything is very well done. Thanks!

This is, in fact, the issue. From another thread (that I now cannot find) the client is using OpenGL 3.x. Prior to Lion (10.7), OS X only supported up through OpenGL 2.x. The only solution is to upgrade to (at least) Lion.

Thank you for that information. I'll give it a wait and see if they will make it more compatible, this old mac runs amazing to this day (4 years old), I even play GW2 on this thing! not in the market for a new one or a new OS.

It wasn't too pricey to upgrade to Mountain Lion so i did, and I was then able to install and play the game. It runs just a well as it did on the XP partition but without all the crashes sound sound issues!
