Me too Trowen, me too. Think I just might blow this game off... there are plenty more, and I am paying them monthly for this and they cant even respond to a in-game bug report about this. Guess they just don't have it as a priority. It's obvious they feel they can ignore in-game complaints. Oh well, onward and upward!

    Thumbs down What an Embarrassment!

You would think that they'd have found a show-stopping bug like this before they rushed to release Rohan. That's just QA negligence. But for this to go on for a full week without a fix? Fixing the bugs and glitches that people have been bitching about in-game is all fine and dandy, but for there to big a critical bug causing a crash for enough people to warrant a dedicated thread on the forums that STILL hasn't been tended to is a joke.

Luckily this game has a healthy player base, because if the dev team had f*cked up this bad in the initial release LOTRO would be but a memory.

Your producer needs to either hire more testers or find a way to better utilize those already employed. This is pathetic.

    Temp Fix for me

I have been able to play with out trouble by doing these 2 things.

-Troubleshooting -> options: step down one or two levels on the engine speed
    -Run in window mode

I turned off a few "... dramatically increase performance" features to compensate for running in window mode.

I've just played for 2 hours no problems.

    Hope this works for others.
    Im gonna bump this again....
Many people have tried this and it works! (if you have it installed)
Not only does it seem to stop crashing, but it speeds up play!
Please read through the previous posts to this thread!
If you have happycloud installed (you probably won't even know it until you look at your control panel),
    Get rid of it!
You don't need it! Sapience has backed me up on this.
It might not cure YOUR problems but it's worth a try!

Disabling Frills mostly worked for me - still occasional crashes but able to play for over 2 hours without.

Not surprising therefore that one of the bugs supposedly corrected by today's patch is one causing crashes on systems with low display adapter memory. (Though I don't think mine does).

    Let us hope it works.

yeah, fine and dandy for those of you that use those thrills such as happy cloud or installed with UIs and Plugins, but my installation is a pure and simple download via the original downloader with updates. No plugins, no UIs no additional stuff.

What really gets me is a company that was big to begin with Turbine gets bought out by WB and they still have no PHONE technical support. How can they get things done here? Most software companies even small ones have atleast telephone technical support.

As this thread never really stayed on topic (thanks to those of you who did try), and it is now moot due to today's update we'll be locking this discussion.

I'm no native english speaker, so excuse my spelling and grammar mistakes.

In my case the problem still exists after update 8.0.2 today.

The only thing which makes the game playable for me is to disable "Frill Distance" otherwise the memory is very fast at ~80% use and the game crashes.

    PC-Config:

    AMD Phenom II X4 955
    8GB RAM (3,25GB use because of Win7 32-bit versioin)
    Radeon HD5870

It's the same with me, I've crashed twice now since 8.0.2 in exactly the same fashion as I was doing before.
