Suggestion: Turbine Point sale once Store is available again
I think this would be a win/win. Players would likely spring for bigger TP Packages and Turbine could boost revenue after a period of halted revenue (well, from TP sales).
Actually, I'd just like a Turbine Point sale. Just trying to make a persuasive argument for it. :-D
I can't even buy turbine points since the long downtime anymore!
Always getting "an error has occured try again later" message. Using the same creditcard as before and even using my paypal account doesn't solve the problem.
No replay to the ticket i've wrote so far.
/signed, I don't want to have to wait till summer to pick up the big stuff. I've already passed on a few good sales because the ol' TP wallet is empty. The Christmas Fools have probably all parted with their money, time to lure us frugal folks into splurging on upgrades for spring
Once all the purchasing issues are resolved, so everyone who tries to buy points is able to, then I agree this would be good.
With a fairly long outage followed by some remaining issues with the Store, Turbine is bound to have lost some income that they'll want to make up for. (I don't know how much, but they must have had a bad few days at the very least.) At the same time, it caused the players frustration and a loss of confidence in the Store. A big sale could be just the thing to bring in a flurry of purchases to help fix both those problems.
I'm thinking, combine a sale on Turbine Points with a particularly large sale on stuff in the Store to get people wanting those Turbine Points. It should be something that can get players excited about it, so larger than the typical weekly sales. A particularly large discount on some of the more popular large-ticket items, like quest packs/expansions, vault and shared storage, horses, etc. Be sure to advertise what's going to be on sale and that the sale in the Store will correspond with a sale on points for those Store purchases.
Just make sure that any remaining technical difficulties with making purchases is fixed first. The PR boost of a big sale could backfire if people try to buy stuff and can't.

Very good points. There do seem to be some remaining Point-related issues. But once those are resolved, bring on the sales!
