You can play. The account site is down. There may be some interruption of logins, but the game is up. It has been all day.
Then how would I get in to play? It won't let me get in? Should I re-add the shortcut?

You may want to restart everything including your router and PC. Sounds like a connection issue.

I thought it said you could keep playing if you were already in game but if you left or tried to login in it would fail? As the login servers are also the account servers would be down?

I know Sapince (Did I spell that right?) is helping you out but just to let you know (I am NOT gloating) I can log in, so it probably a problem with your computer or router as he said.
My suggestion would be to try connection to an OTHER internet source, if this problem still happens then it's your computer.

On a total derailment. I didn't realize we had any of Tiggs' post still floating about. I ran into a guy in a furniture store last week who is a LOTRO Player and we had a great discussion about Tiggs!

Note for all those suggesting looking at signatures, you do realize folks who don't have signatures enabled won't even know what you are referring to? Your posts might just seem nonsensical or leaving out info.

If you are talking about getting your launcher logs, as far as I can tell you use the same command as you do for Windows 7 and Vista.
(Maybe a Windows 8 user can comment on this?)
- If you're having a launcher issue, please post your launcher logs. These can be found in:
- Vista/Win 7 - C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Lo cal\Turbine\The Lord of the Rings Online\Launcher
- To open these folders click on the Windows "Start" button and click on "Run" or into "Start Search"
OR
- Windows 7 or Vista: Type this command and press enter:

You may also have to allow the client and launcher as exceptions to Windows Defender's real time scanning.
