Missing Quests after update 13 in North Downs

I was looking through my quests last night and noticed I am missing a lot of quests from the North Downs area. I am missing about 8 to 12 quests that I had for over there. Missing - Mother of the Valley, Pulling Beards, the one where you have to kill the Falconer, and many in Dol Dinen that I still needed to complete. They are not available anymore either. I did not see anything listed about removing quests or any changes listed for the North Downs area. I did not /bug it yet as I wanted to ask here first in case these changes were on purpose and someone here knows about them. I did notice some new tasks boards in Esteldin but all the quests I had left for there are gone.

Many of the quests you mention, I have gotten this week by going to the places where the quests are completed. Going into the falconer's place gave me the falconer's quest. Wandering into the valley of the lizards gave me the matron quest. Wandering into Nan Wathren gave me Nan Wathren quests.

Apparently, one needs to sweep through the various regions - visiting every location - to get all the quests. I can think of no way to know if one might have missed something.

Any old versioned quests might have been removed from the game and replaced by a new quest. Even if a quest with the same name still exists, its technically a different quest, and may have diferent requirements to take it now.

In short, You'll have to go exploring and pick them up again. They should be more or less in the same places.

An unfortunate side-effect of the revamp is that it's a wipe, but on the bright side, you can wander into any quest hub and pick up a bunch of quests that should be very different now. I recommend starting at Trestlebridge and playing through the zone in order, but you could really pick up anywhere. Good luck!

The North Downs revamp is mentioned right near the beginning of the Patch Notes for update 13, including a link to the Developer's Diary with more detailed information.

Developers don't "revamp" a region very often, but when they do, it can involve a thorough overhaul of quests (replacing old ones with new ones, moving quest-givers to new locations, changing the progression from one hub to the next, etc). But I will say, previous revamps to other regions have resulted in much better gameplay, more convenient travel, and in some cases, more interesting stories, than were there before. Hopefully the same will be true for North Downs. It might feel disconcerting if you were already in progress through the zone, but in the long run, a zone revamp is a big plus for the game.

While your attention is on this thread Budgeford, firstly I wanted to say thank you for the North Downs revamp - its been due for a long time, and so far I'm enjoying it.

Though I do have one question - where has the mysterious relic which used to be at William Peake's farm gone? Thanks.

The revamp did nix a few quests. I recall the over all loss of three or so chains. The story of Mincham's wife and children in the Idalene/Olthranon arc, Mincham's arc that points you to the Ost Nuaran Oathbreaker captain (The Oathbreakers) come to mind easily. Amarion used to have a wrapper quest that gave you quests from the NPCs he's guarding at Amon Raith. In return, Colbert has had his story brought to life and there are some 'bosses' in the Fields of Fornost that are new.

It's gone down the road to the East. Peake's and Hodges' Farms switched names, in effect.

The new revamp is cool, the flow of quests is much better. Unfortunately, they missed fixing the road out to Stoneheight. https://www.lotro.com/forums/showthr...mp-Stoneheight

What about the "Destination: North Downs" quest? It got removed from all my characters who had it, but only two of them got it back as a autobestow quest right away. I'm a completionist and I want to do all quests, but I was saving these in my tracker for when my characters actually reach that area, and now most of my characters are missing out. Should I bug it on all the characters who didn't get it back or just one?

Thank you! I'm glad you like it. It was really fun to work on... I love the North Downs, but it really, really, really needed a lot of help to be a good zone for questing.

The mysterious relic was moved down to...uh...William Peake's Farm. I believe I swapped the landmarks so that Nathan Hodges' Farm is now closer to Amon Raith, due to a mistake I made that would have taken too long to fix. (Sorry about that). Peake's Farm is now in the Kingsfell, just west of Gatson's Farm.

If you are too high-level, this one probably went away. I don't believe there was any unique reward that you'll be missing. Unfortunately the quests are removed from the log when we version them, and the Destination quests only appear to players within a certain level range.

I'm enjoying the revamped areas. As far as the North Downs is concerned, one thing that I had hoped to see, and didn't, was some swift travel. Trestlebridge especially could use it. It takes so long to get to from Esteldin or Bree. Any chance you could still add swift travel there for an upcoming patch/update?

The continued lack of swift travel in certain areas is baffling.

Excellent, thank you for the reply I've just been making my way through Othrikar and Meluinen, and its great to see that although the quests have been streamlined, they haven't lost their essential storylines.

    Thank you for your reply

Please, could the Destination quests please please please have their level limit removed (or an NPC somewhere that will let us go and grab the missing quests)? I have bought all areas because I love questing through them all in order, and I love doing ALL quests. LOTRO is like a book for me. For me having the quests completed in my quest tracker is the greatest reward, so it's not that I'm worried about missing out on awesome loot

I would really prefer there not to be any level limit quests at all. It's far too easy to level right past them without warning due to festivals. Every time I see those Explorers of Eregion elves I get upset because I've been seeing them around ever since I started playing and have wondered who they were, and suddenly one day they had quest rings! I was busy with a festival and my quest tracker was almost full so I needed the empty slots for the festival quests so I didn't grab the quest yet. When the festival was over I went to grab the quest from one of the Explorer of Eregion elves, but the quest were gone. I did some research and it turned out that they were quests you could outlevel... How was I supposed to know that before it was too late?

I believe there is an option to "show under-level quest". Would it be possible to make this option also affect auto-bestow quests, i.e. if I have that option enabled then I'll also get any and all under-level auto-bestows I encounter?

This would be great! Those of us who want to quest our way through the whole Middle-earth can do so then, and those who want to quest where their level tells them to quest still won't get annoyed by old quest popups

My own experience is that they are always enabled once you reach the minimum level. There is no way to avoid them except by not entering the trigger area. In some cases, they can't be ignored or cancelled.
