    Probably not.

There's a life lesson, though. The first ones to do a thing usually do that thing with far less efficiency than the ones who do the thing later. Being first often has rewards, but sometimes it's better to take a leisurely pace.

Fangorn leaves are ridiculous. You can only earn a handful every day... And yet everything you want costs 100-400 leaves.

Worse than wildermore or great river was. At least the dailies aren't broken anymore, but that's only 2 leaves anyway.

I don't think this is the case. None of my characters has achieved Ally rep yet with Entwood Forest but when I check the recipe with my Explorer (who has the required amount of leaves) I am unable to purchase the bluebell field recipe because I am not a farmer. The bluebell field recipe has the red outline and the barter box is greyed out.

When I checked the recipe with my farmer, the bluebell field recipe is still greyed out (because I do not yet have 100 leaves) but it does not have the red border around it. This implies that I can obtain the recipe as soon as I get the 100 leaves.

The recipe description no longer mentions anything about a rep level at all, just the requirement to be a Westemnet Farmer. I believe that my farmer just needs the 100 leaves to barter the recipe.

I do not see that the recipe is available to barter unless you have 100 leaves and are a Westemnet Farmer.

Can anyone confirm that the recipe after U13.1 can be acquired even if you are not a farmer?

Those two things indicate something completely different:
    • Red outline: this means you cannot use the item, in your case, because you're not a farmer (other uses of this, for example, when you're the wrong class to use an item, not high enough in level...)
    • Grey barter box: this means you are not yet eligible to barter for the item. Possible reasons are: not enough barter tokens (so no 100 leaves yet), or not having met the requirements to barter. In the latter case (perhaps in the former as well) you can hover your mouse over the 'barter' button, and it should tell you what your missing (it can be a deed requirement, a reputation requirement...)

The bluebell/steel blue dye is not difficult, my two scholars have been making it for two weeks now, and they are both under level 50. My cook, obtained the bluebell field recipe from the ents quite quickly, by using a few rep tomes bought at a skirm camp. A farmer (in my case, my cook) only needs the field recipe to harvest the bulbs (although Turbine, the bulb yield is OTT low per field). Scholars, can buy the dye recipe at their guild, and make 5 dyes every 18 hours.

Ideally though, for players who have no farmer at lvl 85+, the bluebell field should be available at the expert farmer. Tailors can buy recipes at fangorn or with their guild, and they already have access to the mats to make them, and the same goes for all other professions, so it should be the same for the scholar.

    UPDATE:
My farmer has now acquired 100 leaves and meets the Westemnet farmer requirement and is still unable to barter for the bluebell field recipe. So the assumption that the recipe is still rep gated in order to barter for it appears to be correct. It would be nice if the tooltip still indicated that there is a rep requirement in order to barter for the recipe, since the tooptip presently indicates no rep requirement at all. Hovering over the item just indicates that you must be a Westemnet Farmer and have the necessary leaves. So based on the tooltip I meet the requirements but the barter box is still greyed out.

Currently, it's the vendor that is reputation gated, and that's gating the recipes. They can only be purchased if you are Ally with the Ents of Fangorn Forest and have 100 Fangorn Leaves per recipe to barter. These two factors are the only gates - type of character or professions trained is irrelevant when it comes to purchasing the recipes.

The recipes being available on this vendor was an oversight that will be corrected with U14.

When the fix is applied, the recipes will be available to any character on Expert Farmer Vendors for an appropriate amount of in-game coin. The only condition required to learn the recipes is Westemnet Farming.

I hope this clears up any confusion regarding these recipes.

I haven't followed this thread but was preparing to buy the recipes from the Fangorn barterer for my scholar. Are you saying that the field recipes will be available at the expert farmer vendors and we won't need to spend 100 leaves to buy it? If this is the case, are people that have paid the high price for bartering being refunded the leaves?

Thank you Kehleyr, it certainly clears up my confusion, at least regarding this issue!
