If you found the books around Harloeg they belong to a now defunct scholar-quest to get access to the superior study in Rivendell. You had to find several piles of books that fell from a wagon which lies broken in the same swamp (and since this was in the time before quest objects sparkled they were a pain to find).
There are more books in the spider-infested ruins west of Ost Guruth - if they have or had a purpose I don't know.

This was in the spider ruins of Amon Ros, not in Harloeg; I can't imagine how I could have completely neglected to see these in my years of play. Not impossible though!

The 4th house (presumably belonging to "Bingo") was recently expanded. No longer a humble hobbit hole, it is now quite large. Bingo must be doing well for himself.

If you are talking about the overturned wagon down by Haerlog, that was a scholar quest that was quite difficult for me to find. Ah the good old days before devs couldn't make up their minds about crafting quests and just made them so you almost needed a fs to finish. I still shudder at some of them.

If we are talking about having an old school server which craft quests would we get? These?

Negative to both; if you look back at the little screenshot I posted earlier in the thread, the books I was questioning are actually in Amon Ros (the spider area west of Ost Guruth). Who dropped a lovely pile of books while running from the iddle bitty spiders?

Can't wait for the new event to see what these Hobbitses have in store for us.

I was on Bullroarer checking out U16 stuff, and I stopped by Michael Delving. Bingo's door is clickable/selectable/an interactive object, much like the entrance to the Haunted Burrow. And when I clicked on it, I got a message about not having the appropriate quest. Very interesting and exciting!

Well, the quest(s) didn't appear with U16, unless it's tied to the next festival or something. But, the door to Bingo's house is now a selectable object, so that made it from Bullroarer. I have a feeling we'll get to go inside the house. I wonder if Bingo will be the rumored companion or tied to the rumored instanced content?

MoL, if you're still reading this: please don't make the quest name "And Bingo Was His Name-O".

As of update 16.1 Bingo seems to be at home - smoke coming out of the chimney - I can't remember seeing smoke before, so that could be a change.
