I don't want to go on a rage here but the lack of communication is crazy. Not even the slightest idea by anybody on when or what there plan is for the beta. All we can do is watch and wait I guess. I thought they would all be going home by now though.

definitely, I mean, not that hard to just drop a message saying what stage theyre at, no matter how busy.
Ok people serously CALM DOWN. This is for BETA testing. This is not for LIVE. The fact that things are taking longer than 'we want' doesn't mean they are working on trying to get things up. They could have run into a problem with the build earlier on their internal testing that they were rushing to try and fix to get it up, which in turn has them ALL busy as it is also the END OF THE DAY. It may even result in the testing needing to be pushed back.

I agree with most of what you said but if that is the case why can't they let us know. That is the only problem I have with it.

It does jot matter. We were told something ansd again it looks like what we were told is not going to happen so it comes across as yet another in a long stream of lies to their playerbase. I can not beloieve this cimpany ay anuthing anymore

The fact that things are taking longer than 'we want' doesn't mean they are working on trying to get things up- what?
Remember Beta Testing Is Not A Right! It Is A Priviledge- we're helping them by finding bugs, definitely a privilege

Turbine likes to remind every time that they have many divisions with different responsibilities. I believe community manager should communicate and not fix technical problems, shouldn't he?
Yes by Beta Testing we are helping them fine tune things by finding bugs, errors, types, etc... But we have to remember that things can go wrong that they catch and have to fix before we can even see things.
Yes we all really wish that Turbine would communicate more and say things like 'We have a problem we might not get the build up this weekend'. At the same time even them saying that gets used against them by the people that tally up every single word Turbine says and doesn't come to fruition which makes them actually not want to communicate on things even if its something that they know we really want to hear.
Hell there is even a chance that maybe Vyv misspoke and its really Next Weekend that was to be build 1 and noone caught it/realized it and let us know they made a mistake.
I can't say for sure what Community Managers do during cases like this beyond putting together Test Plans and Release Notes but it is the End of the Day at the End of the Work Week.. Just maybe they are to busy to even drop us a quick note... However much I and everyone wishes they would.
I am just as expectant for the Build and have been looking forward to seeing just what is coming with the Update as everyone else but it really doesn't do any good to sit and harp on 'where is it where is it' and 'tell us something'. I am just trying to calm things down and get people to take a step back as some are getting to up in arms about it.

It was definitely this weekend due to the fact we were all able to download the patch before it was initially supposed to open. You are never able to apply a patch a week before a scheduled testing.

nobody realised that vyv might have *accidentally* said beta was due for this weekend? ur kidding right?

There is such a thing as putting test builds onto Bullroarer that they then test themselves in house without bringing the server open to the public but we would still be updating based on the version on Bull.
There could have been a 'demo session' for some people and that build could be what we patched.
As for people saying its stupid that noone would realize if the wrong week was stated for the build then you must have always been 100% perfect in everything you've ever said or typed never mixing up days or this week for next and great for you if you are such a person. I don't think that Turbine has people reading over every single communication that others put onto the forums to make sure its perfect.
I'm just pointing out possibilities since like everyone I'm in the dark as to what is really going on.
I believe it is today. They just took the 17.2 Build 2 Release Notes off of the Sticky Board, which probably means they're making room for the Update 18 Build 1 Release Notes.

I think it was earlier this week that she said it would be this weekend. It isn't out of the realm of possibility that they could make a mistake but to not follow it up with an update of what they actually meant in the 4 days afterwards is almost impossible.
