Toad's Tongue Ale from the Floating Log. "An acquired taste but well worth the trouble."
The Best ale? There are way too many for me to choose one favorite .... My horse has much more particular tastes. He certainly has a favorite and seems to be intoxicated by it 25 hours a day 365 days a year. But he never tells me the name of the particular serum which fills his casks. For the answer to this, I imagine one would have to first be a member of the most jovial beverage making club in all of middle earth. I speak of course of the famous brewmasters of the "Inn League" (Known in certain circles as the "drunken hobbits"). For it was these very hobbits who granted me this horse, and provided him with his magical casks which never run dry. They have created an ale so amazing that if my horse is drinking, I become quite merry even though I have not consumed a single drop. Marvelous! Though it does affect my vision while I'm riding the horse. I'm not even sure how that works since I am not the one drinking, and there is not another ale in middle earth with that effect as far as I'm aware.
The Inn League is quite impressive. If you need to know the name of this ale, I suggest joining their ranks. They are quite welcoming. Though I do suspect that whatever this seemingly magical elixir is, It's probably a closely guarded secret since I have not found such a beverage at any bar, pub, or Inn anywhere else in middle earth. If you do stop by the Inn League clubhouse, you simply must visit their taxidermist. The "drunken hobbits" have in their ranks the best taxidermist ever. he will make your dead animals look much happier.
The Best Ale comes from the Green dragon in the shire! you'll never find any finer Ale then Green Dragon's Breath Ale.![]()

My first experience with drinking in Lotro was when I received a bottle of Limael's Vintage from Brethilwen in the mail. I drank it, and thought, "meh". A few weeks later, when I stopped into the Forsaken Inn, on a whim I bought a serving of Stars of Old Cider. I know it's not Ale, but I have wonderful memories of that very first time I muddled my wits and decided to drunkenly kill goblins. I had to run back and buy some more, because I was having so much fun trying to not run into a tree and aim at the middle goblin out of the three I saw. I now keep a small stash of SoOC on me at all times, for old times sake.
