I love my hobbits and I've been waiting for this avatar upgrade for a year. Overall I'm happy about changes, any changes, but I think it could be better. Some thoughts:

    1. Dare change them more! The first 15 or so are extremely similar to the original.
    2. Any particular reason most of them have thin upper lips? I've read nowhere that hobbits have thin upper lips, please change or at least add more diversity.
    3. Change or add more hair styles, pretty please! The only long-haired one looks terrible and nothing seems to have been changed for that particular style (and many others). Hobbits seem childlike, but they're not children and there's no reason why many of their hairstyles should look so childish.

    Thank you!

This right here. I know Hobbits are small, but supposedly they are normal bodied, just smaller than humans and elves. Already the males bodies are off with longer bodies and very short legs, unlike a normal human. Never read hobbits had weird builds and baby faces.

Small does not equal = child. Would love to see a few more hobbit faces that look grown up, not 'old' but adult. Considering the human females ended up looking 15, I doubt this will be done tho :-)

Pet peeve: Hobbits RP'ing in town talking in baby talk. They're not even children avatars why would they be talking baby-talk? lol!

Yes, I agree that the male hobbit's bodies need work; the females are not bad right now, they seemed to do better on the female Hobbit avatars from the beginning.

Not sure what you mean about human females looking 15; if anything my LM went from looking 16-18 to about 25 or so. She looks much better now; older and, dare I say it, more sophisticated. Very pretty, sexy in a good way.

The only reason I can think of for this is that maybe they were RP'ing human children? Still no reason for baby talk, imo, but I have, on one occasion, made a hobbit lass avatar and RP'ed her as a tough orphaned 12 yo human Breeland girl. Was rather fun, actually.

I haven't been on BR but from what I see here I'm so relieved that they didn't change the female hobbits faces very much. I've been so dreading this update scared they'd change to much. I'm now excited to see the avatar update go live. Thank you to everyone who posted pictures and videos here.

Yes, the female hobbit faces look amazing! Their lovely clear skin is even clearer and lovelier now And the eyes and lips look fantastic!

Though the male hobbits have had some shadows added to their faces making them look older, and their nice clear skin has been made MUCH less clear and the colour of the lower half of the face has been dulled I'm hoping they will get back their fresh faces to match their ladies. Older age can be added with Details options for those who prefer, but please SSG, don't give all the beauty and youth to the ladies and leaving nothing for us guys again

As some previous posters mentioned, any shading / lines on hobbit males should have its own Details section (call it Details 2 if you have to), where we get to choose if we want those changes applied.

Keep the new hobbit avatars looking young by default, give players a choice to make them appear older via additional Details (duller skins, added crinkles, whatever).

Avatar customization should be about PLAYERS having control of how their characters look. Not about having some SSG employee's personal preference dictating how EVERYONE's male hobbit should look (or what age he appears).

Hair feedback for one of the female hobbit hairstyles. Sorry, I forgot the number it has

When I switched between Original and Avatar Update settings the hair moved and the camera position also moved to be higher up, as can be seen in the animated GIF below. I don't know if it's a bug or intended, I just thought I'd report it in case it's a bug =)

I didn't move the camera at all in the screenshots for the animation. The ground moving is because changing the settings back and forth made the camera position move up and down.

When the hair is moved up like that, it makes the hair shorter in the front. If it's supposed to be high up like that, please make the hair longer again =)

    * though should be through. Sorry about that.

Look at the faces of the front view screenshots. The new face is so perfect and her skin is lovely and clear and her lips are more natural but still pretty like the original! Prettier even!

I'm hoping the male hobbits will get the same kind of fresh skin. Here's how they look now:

The skin change makes him look both older, more worn and even his chin looks broader. Please don't be unfair to the guys. Beauty shouldn't just be for the ladies.

His hair looks great from the front! Sadly I forgot to take screenshots of the side and back so I can't comment on that.

One more thing: Male hobbits had quite boring eyes compared to the ladies, and it would be wonderful if they too could have eyelashes. That would really make their eyes look more natural and less like openings in the skin with an eye in it I mean look at the eyes of the ladies; they're amazing!

Here's a video of more of the hair mostly on female hobbits. I've posted this already on another thread, but it looks like this is now the thread for all thing about hobbit faces and hair.

I don't know the exact cause for this, but I've seen this before. Just putting a hat on and off can affect the camera like that.

In my opinion, the eyes of many male hobbit faces are still to small. Why do the female hobbit have larger eyes than the male one ?
They look so pretty, as the seconds just look suspicious, pervert or so sad, with their so little eyes...

Also, maybe the shape of jaws should be a little bit more softened...

That's a great thing that the eyebrows are now well corellated to the hait color, and not grey like it was before !

Any idea on whether or not this affects animations? I love my Hobbit Warden, but I don't like him sliding around while attacking.

It is a bit of a shame that so many of male hobbit avatars have built-in baggy eyes and wrinkles. Female hobbits are allowed to choose whether or not they have a youthful appearance or not, but not males. I agree that the wrinkles should be a face detail option. They may have been their in the original avatars, and maybe you're wary of altering the faces too much, like men and elves, but I think this is one area where relegating an existing facial feature to an optional one would be very welcome by players.

This so much! It's not really fair how the ladies always gets the option of youth and beauty, while guys always end up looking older and less nice no matter your settings.

Also, please don't forget to fix Male Elves... It's been such a long time now and we still have a slack jaw on our characters that makes them look like they're not very intelligent, and Mouth #6 isn't the right colour and only half the lower lip is painted, and many eyebrows have lost their lovely shape, and /laugh emote still makes the characters jump which looks very jarring

I've been eagerly awaiting the Hobbit avatar upgrade since time immemorial. I dropped in for the Harvest festival after a couple month hiatus, and I got a nice surprise!

I'm not hard to please compared to many posters here, but I have to say that I am madly in love with the updated face of one of my two Hobbits. She is exactly what I tried to make and could not before.

The other one I honestly wouldn't have known was updated except for improvement in the hair texture. I shall throw her back at the barber and see if she can be refined.

I can only say MOAR HEADS.

Oh, and I'm in the Big Eyes for Hobbits camp. I think they should look a little childlike. I think the female eyes are perfect.

My biggest complaint with hobbits is I cant make a rail thin hobbit like frodo or the hobbits I see in the shire who are mostly thin hobbits. Im glad we can have more fit male hobbits without the huge gut lol but id love to be able to have or make a rail thin frodo type hobbit not this overly obiese or somewhat fit hobbit
