Yes, I seem to remember seeing something about it.

They did Thursday last week, after skipping the Tuesday for the update, so it looks like they may keep doing it on Thursdays for a while.

Seems they forgot to make a notice. My guess is it's probably just a restart, which usually seems to take around an hour.

Same here, I checked various sites for status and they show the worlds are up but my screen shows them all red and down.

That's what I am guessing. It's just unusual for them to not post any kind of notice, even if it's at the last moment.

Sorry, community person fail on this one. We did a short reboot to promote the health of the game worlds, and while in-game messaging was done, I missed getting the word out elsewhere.

Agreed, No one is perfect. We all make mistakes. I have no problem accepting and even forgiving mistakes when the one having done it can admit it and not put on some facade or blame someone or something else. Of course it also depends on how many time a person makes the same mistake and how severe it is. Some mistakes can only be forgiven once, other mistakes more times. Mistakes are good if You learn from them and they don't have too dire consequences. In this case I see it as a minor mistake and that it can happen again in the future. Nothing serious really. Still nice by Cordovan to admit it and own it.

I agree with the others, rare errors like this one are not an issue. Of course I would still wish for an overall improvement with longer announcement (both tentative and confirmative), but this is a more general topic.

See, when they migrated the servers it was to bring all the hardware "in-house" to save on maintenance costs and overhead. But what that actually meant was that they set the servers up in Dave's garage.

Well last night thunderstorms knocked out the power in Dave's neighborhood, so not only did the servers go down, his alarm clock didn't go off this morning and he was late getting up to reboot them.

And he also had to eat breakfast, which consisted of eggs and pancakes.
