Have another problem. If I minimize the screen, it errors out each time when I try to bring it up again with "Cannot run Direct X 3d" and then crashes

While i don't have errors minimizing the game, i still seem to have, game crashes exactly the same as i used to have... I didn't have them always before, but i i hoped 64 bit client would get rid of the crashes once and for all...

Update your sound drivers, get the 64bit version.

    Option will be available now
    Where is the target text?

The 64 bit won't load for me. I have changed to 64 bit and tried multiple times, I do my password and nothing happens.

Thanks, Yarbro. It looks like things are set for allow. No dialogue boxes are appearing when the launcher disappears so this is getting frustrating to figure out
So after checking that I went digging around and came upon the fact that d3dx9_42.dll was missing.

I have no idea if it always was. But I went into my Lotro folder and hit the DXSETUP.exe and let it do its thing.

That seemed to work, I then hit Play on the launcher and was asked if I wanted to run DX 11 (even tho I was in 32bit) and then I got the firewall pop up to allow the 64 client access. I was able to log on with the 64 bit client.

This may help someone else in the same situation. Thanks for all the suggestions

This sounds like a DirectX issue. It may be worth running the DirectX End User Runtime Installer here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/down...s.aspx?id=8109
Thank you, This worked for me

same here, constant crashes. even 64-bit dx9 crashed 5 minutes in. 32-bit dx9 remains the only stable option

Anyone else have this? Are there some prerequisities to be met in order to run 64 bit client?
I have the same problem. Launcher disappears and game doesn't start.

Its odd, AFAIK, there should be no differences in dx files, so the game should have worked "out of the box" with the new client.

Are you a Nvidia gfx user??

Try reinstalling the dx9 files in case something has been corrupted/overwritten.

if you are still crashing after that, I would humbly suggest you have some hardware that is perhaps not 100%, or a software conflict.

try running the game in Safe Mode with networking and see if it still crashes (after reinstalling the dx files).

If it still crashes and you are o/c'ing anything, return to stock settings and try again.

If it still crashes, try removing running on 1 RAM module only, if it still crashes, swap that module for one that you took out.

So the new Mac Wine client does not support 64-bit? Can anyone confirm this?

LOTRO allows ReShade?!?!?!?!?! Are there any special tricks to make it work?

I found some fixes online in the forums. Something about changing a few lines in the .INI file to force windowed mode as TRUE. Thought I have had a couple of crashes in areas I would never crash in before and occasionally I notice wall and ground textures flickering here and there.

Plus, on my laptop, I can't seem to get higher than Direct X 9, although I have 12 installed. The box is grayed out in options. I found a thread which discusses how to fix it, but it has not worked. Updated all my drivers as well.

If you dont know where that is, click the little triangle next to the Language setting box at the top of the launcher.
    Thanks.
