Suddenly yesterday I am unable to connect to the lotro forums, or any lotro.com site, on any of the PCs in my house, only my mobile device which uses the Google VPN is able to connect.
In addition my login client gives me the error "installing pre-reqs". I already verified the proxy is turned off in settings, strangely the 64bit option is now MISSING from the lotrolauncher.exe settings.
Unable to use the REPAIR options, moved the documents folder .ini files out of the folder to verify that's not an option.
Pretty sure I've been IP blocked by ssg. Who do I contact or how do I go about getting my IP taken off the blacklist. My 6 month VIP subscription is up for renewal but I'm not paying until I am able to to connect to servers again.
And yes I've rebooted the modem/router. Going through a VPN allows my mobile device to connect but my 3 PCs on this network cannot.
Has your firewall updated??
I had one PC where the firewall updated BEFORE the latest LOTRO update, and it blocked both 32 and 64 bit clients, and the launcher; I had one where the update appeared AFTER I had installed the the LOTRO update, and it only blocked the 64 bit client.
It gives the same response even with the firewall turned off.
Oddly enough the lotrolauncher no longer has the option for 64bit? I was using it just fine for a few days but now it's not even an option in the launcher anymore?
Tried a client repair but it still hang up with the "installing pre-reqs" message.
Ok turns out it's a massive outage on the west coast affecting all Charter/Spectrum customers. It only affects video games thought which is strange.
LotRO, ESO, Destiny 2, RuneScape are some of the games unable to connect to both the server as well as some websites associated such as the lotro forums.

Quite often, when a service is having big congestion or capacity issues, they will prioritise against games, video streams etc; in this case it is a bit pointless when you consider the actual data throughput for the game is below old dial up speeds; however they are probably basing it on the patch server data flows, which obviously were at a peak only last week.
I hope you get it sorted soon, or if you are really in withdrawl, connect your PC via your phone.
Lotro only uses about 10MB of data PER HOUR of game play.
Ok, Spectrum has apparently fixed the issue as I'm now able to connect.
The strange part was how the 64bit game option completely disappeared from the lotrolauncher options? It would also be nice if there was some kind of indicator on the launcher that it wasn't able to connect to the server rather than the generic "pre-req" message it displayed.

I suspect the launcher, like the game, uses two different internet protocols, so the one wasant blocked and could see the update server, but the other WAS blocked, so the patch information never arrived. When the server is genuinely down, you usually get an entirely different message telling you it cannot read something.
I am hoping SSG are busy working on some launcher updates, as the domain outage showed that the launcher and patcher dont check the data they are downloading, and will inject any type of #### into your install folder.
