Monday Patch supposed to fix the OLD Operating System PROBLEM ??? - *STILL NOT WORKING*

    The patch was done ?

Did the fix get in that allows older opsys to start

Are there any manual steps required (where are they ??? ) to have the workaround now work ? (as was usually required in the past)

We are currently working to correct an issue that is preventing some users from updating their game clients following the release of Update 28.3. A more permanent fix is being worked on and we expect to release it in a few weeks, but in the meantime players have two options to update their game clients and correct this issue:

    1. Uninstalling and Reinstalling the game client, even on a Windows 7 and earlier operating system, will correct the issue for now. Note that we recently updated our game launcher to make this process much faster.

    2. Players can download a specific file that deals with launcher patching and copy it into their main installation folder for The Lord of the Rings Online. The file is called patchclient.dll and can be downloaded here: http://akamai.lotro.com/lotro/patch/...atchclient.dll NOTE: You will receive warning messaging when attempting to download this file and will have to agree to proceed.

Once downloaded, patchclient.dll can be placed into your main installation folder, and you should allow it to overwrite the existing file with the same name. By default, LOTRO installs here: C:\Program Files (x86)\StandingStoneGames\The Lord of the Rings Online

Also please remember that you will need to have your existing game launcher closed in order to replace the file.

This link is no longer working. Any other ways to fix this?
