What happened to the housing hook consolidation?

The new dressers that are designated as furniture rather than wall is frustrating to me, as I'd love to replace the red elven dresser in my house with the weaving wood dresser but can't since it wouldn't go into the large wall hook

I know this isn't part of the currently planned changes, but I got pretty frustrated at the floating lanterns. They are gorgeous, and I wanted a pond full of them. However, since there is no vertical slider on outdoor hooks, they could not be floated on outdoor water features. I could only find two water features that could be placed inside: the very old Elven Reflecting Pool (ick, sorry to say) and the fish pond available for Figments. So I spent months stalking Figments vendors so that I could get that fish pond in my Gondorian house to float lanterns.

I'm sure there's a reason that there's no vertical slider on outdoor hooks, but the lack makes a lot of fairly obvious decorating choices impossible.

I think it's because they don't want people suspending things in midair in their yards. If you do it in your house, you're not bothering anyone else, but if you do it outside, other people have to look at it on their way home.
