Is the new account issue related to the cause of the lag spikes in-game?

So are both issues caused by database problems? The lag spikes on Sunday night were pretty immense for me.

We don't expect them to be related, but we're still investigating.

You are in good company , well if you can call it good .. :/
Most my kinmates and friends have been experiencing abnormally " rotten " lag the last couple days more so than normal .
At least a couple times since friday , I have had to just walk away from the game as the lag was to bad to play .
Same for most my friends and kinmates
Its not a local issue from what we can determine as many of them are different time zones and servers .

    Same for me...

But as long as the cause for all these issues isn't located in front of both the lagging servers and the oddly behaving account data base, we will be out of luck.

i doubt it very seriously, maybe they found exploiters using that to mass stock certain items in game that new players get. i believe the acct creation and store may be same server "when u mess with someone cash flow they tend to address it quickly very quickly. not saying that's why. but just my opinion. and yeah rightfully so...

They have had 3 developer responses in the last 2.5 days about the exact same issue. They don’t have the skills. But we knew that, Should chap everyones tail end of how much government relief they got without putting dime into the future. * shakes head *

It must allude to the Government financial help during Covid lockdowns. You'll have to ask Daybreak who received the money on SSG's behalf if it was needed to setup staff to work from home given the lockdown brought many back to playing with the addition of a content give away at the time. The later deal with EG7 was our first acknowledgement that Daybreak had been SSG's owner so would not suggest getting an answer over any partial investment in the performance of the game with the addition funds. I'd doubt it as the money had specific usage requirement, but monies not then required to pay wages could be directed elsewhere.

In my head; it's a "Ch Ching" and a rubbing of hands with no further thoughts on it. But likely funded that give-away to "share" in the windfall. The pops have been generally higher since and only exacerbated the poor performance to more players though.

Regarding the accounts problem; I do wonder if the ties with the office next door hadn't been totally severed, until this week, obviously!

Right, many businesses took Covid loans that they were supposed to use for keeping employees paid and cover covid expenses and then the businesses didn't fulfill their end of the bargain. But was there some specific info on the EG7/Daybreak/SSG realm? Seems like that was the accusation.
