Weird, I 'm reading TFOTR and I don't remember a Gildor character. (and I'm at page 330 already). Does he appear after the fellowship leaves the Moria mines?
Keep those elf articles coming, I like them =)

Gildor was the elf who was leading a band of elves in the shire who scared off a black rider and took Frodo, Sam, and Pippin along with his band to an elf camp and gave Frodo some advice(but not much) also he told Frodo he would send word ahead by whatever means he had that he was leaving the Shire with a great burden.

Are you reading an adaptation maybe? I know I had to get a second copy of Return of the King because I picked up a copy that was an adaptation of the movie....and many parts were skipped over.
But aye, Gildor's in there. He shows up before they got to Bree...and if I remember right, before they reached Frodo's Home in Buckland.
I think these character Bios are great, but I wish that you guys would mark the chapter/page (general) where that character is in the book. Maybe a qoute from the book wouldn't hurt either
The better to see you with, my dear....
Theya re still in the shire if I recall right.. the rider is on their tail and close at hand but then he hears elfs songs ans laughter and runs away.. frodo adn sam meet and spend the night with the elf band, before heading on at morning.
Gildor did indeed talk with Frodo, and in fact the Elves presence drove away a closing Black Rider. This happened in Woodhall.
What's this "rich history?" I don't remember reading about him at all in the Silmarillion!
Can you find gildor in near woodhall? if so where? i know he apperas with your hobbit charecter at the intro but i can't seem to find him....
