I'm sure this is wrong, but I decided to try to move this along.
If we consider "fore" and "aft" as north and south, then it follows (sort of) that right and left would be east and west.
With that in mind, The Greenway would be the way that runs north and south, therefore, The Great East Road would be the way that runs east and west.
So, it would be the right-left way.
