LOTRO on Steam

I am a little unclear on one thing. To get the key, I've seen the screenshots and read the instructions... but does this have to be done via the installed STEAM software client, or can you do it by logging in to the steam site?

You can buy it in either place, but in order to access your CD key, you'll need the Steam client installed.
