OK, after any number of crashes and numerous other irritations using the 32-bit LOTRO version of Wine, and given the imminent demise of that system, I have decided to bite the bullet, follow Tralfazz's advice and install Crossover on my mac, which is running macOS High Sierra, v. 10.13.6 and cannot be updated any further.

Is there a relatively idiot-proof guide to the process as of now?
