    Re: The Riddle-Game

Well then the answer must be Ar-Gimilzor. You could have said a little bit more about what he did to narrow down the answer a bit more. All I really had to go on was that he was a cruel King of Numenor that "moved many faithful folk from the west." But it was a good riddle nonetheless. Now I'm going to think of and write a riddle about a little known character of Middle Earth. I'll have it up here in a little while.

    Re: The Riddle-Game

Knowing theoneringer in rl, I think he should be able to guess this with a little bit of research...
    Here it is:

I am a keeper of lore,
    Tales I enjoy telling,
    Wisdom is in my eye,
A house of chimneys is my dwelling.

    Thumbs up Re: The Riddle-Game

Bwahahaha! You're wrong about my riddle, it's not Ar-Gimilzor, it's Ar-Gimilzôr, sheesh. Oh, and he was the first one to get the Faithful out of Numenor in great numbers, so that's a clue. Gilfanon, bwahahahah! That's the answer! Bwahahahah!

Are we the only ones who post on this forum now? Where's Elvyen, and ELF_BOY_1, and that guy who says that he can't write riddles, only guess them? I'm lonely for other riddlers.....

Yes, Gilfanon is correct. I thought you'd be able to guess that.

Hey, I'm still here. I've been reading your riddles, but just haven't had an answer. I enjoy Tolkien lore, but these have been obscure enough (for me, at least) to be unable to guess. Keep 'em coming, I'm glad this thread has been rezzed.

Edit: Wow, I just looked back at the timestamps, and apparently this thread has been ongoing... My subscriptions stopped coming until a couple days ago, for some reason.

Man, I just got done catching up on all the riddles I missed, and I got your bathtub riddle, Elvyen. Gar, why wasn't my subscription thingy working? Anyway, great riddle.

I like the lore riddles, too, although those are harder for me since I tend to read this at work. They require research, while the non-lore ones allow me to just veg out and think while appearing to be staring intently at my monitor.

    Re: The Riddle-Game

Ok back at last.. work has been hectic lately. Ive had no time for the more important things, such as riddle threads etc

Anyway, glad to be back. Welcome back thorondor, thanks im glad you liked the bathtub riddle, good job guessing it Now contribute some! hehe

Wow I missed lots of lore riddles. They would have taken a ton of research...(except for the nimrodel one, I nailed that one instantly) lastalliance and theoneringer have certainly increased my lore-ness haha

I have no riddles to add at the moment as i havent had time to think any up, though noone ever tried to guess my silly little one I posted a page or so ago, its probably not worth guessing hehe

Anyway keep the riddles coming! Im back!

    Re: The Riddle-Game

Ok, here is a super-easy, ultra-cheesy riddle. I've been trying to get this out for a few days now, and just can't make it sound cool.

On many tables can I be found
In many shapes, but usually round.
Of chocolate, wood, potatoes, or plastic,
Either you play with me or I taste fantastic.

    What am I?

Silverlocket, technically it's your turn, so pardon me for interrupting. You should post a better one to keep the chain going.

I'm glad; the easy ones are the only ones I stand a chance of knowing.

    Re: The Riddle-Game

Here's another one I just wrote; it should be relatively easy compared to the other ones I've been posting lately. Here it is:

    I am a minstrel and a loremaster,
My love I betrayed twice to my king,
She escaped and I wandered East searching for her,
There I stayed in despair minstrelling. (Too bad that isn't a word)

    Re: The Riddle-Game

Due to the second line I don't think this fits but is it an Ent? or Ents?

Is it Amroth talking about losing Nimrodel on the way to the Havens?

nope. good guess, though. If the1ringer can't guess it, I'll try to make it more obvious.

I just like guessing at these, so if I am correct I will pass the honor of asking the next riddle to another.

    Re: The Riddle-Game

Heres another for you people, easy I'm sure, or not written well.

The wise the unintelligent and many more ponder over me,
Written or spoken I can be,
Puzzled over, mulled over, but in the end unravel I do,
Person, place, event and many more I describe,
In the end laughter, sorrow, or wisdom may be my fruit.

    Yes, Daeron is correct!

Could the answer to Elfboy's be something along the lines of words?

Chips was correct on my riddle. And I agree with LastAlliance, I'm going with "words" for Elfboy's riddle.

words? Nope. However now that I think about it, it does describe words.
