The "blue bar appears" and "a new world appears" when the blue bar reaches its end sounds like what happens when your character "ports" somewhere, such as when you click on your map icon, but I don't know what the "green 'v' appears and soon another three" signifies.

If I'm right, yes ridiculous. World of Warcraft?
Thus he came alone to Angband's gates, and he sounded his horn, and smote once more upon the brazen doors, and challenged Morgoth to come forth to single combat. And Morgoth came.

Yes, i quite agree. BTW I like your little blurb at the bottom Jonwah, Silmarillion, downfall of the king of noldor, right?
Anyway, lets go a step ahead to the next riddle:
Standing on the ground,
with roots that never grow,
carved of ice 'round,
of sky it gnaws,
of water thou shaln't show,
food it requires not,
for darkness comes from its heart.
Sorry Jonwah, i just briefly looked at this thread, i apologize for coming in like that. feel free just to ignore my last riddle guys.
oh! and a definite sorry to Bailo. The riddle i posted is dead (please try to solve it but the person that solves it doesnt get to do the next riddle, as bailo's riddle is still live).
Don't worry about it hackernslash, I doubt Bailo's upset you posted a riddle. I think everyone that plays the riddle game is pretty casual about the rules.
If WoW's the answer to Bailo's riddle I'm afraid I never would have gotten it. Never played that game, so I'm not familiar with the loading screen. As for the newest one, it sounds very interesting. I'll have to give it some thought.

Well, im relieved then, as for the riddle, it's referring to Tolkien's work but how its made only happens in the real world.
Not WoW, never played the game.
And hackernslasher I'm very interested in the answer to your riddle, its very poetic.

Ohh.. the Helacaraxe? or maybe Taniquetil? Sorry for multiple guesses but they just seem to fit so well!
And yes HackernSlasher, it's from the downfall of Fingolfin; my favourite chapter in the Silmarillion.
As for your riddle Bailo, I'm stumped.. Perhaps you were asking very specifically and your after the Launcher, or the Server Selection page?
Depending on your web browser, there is also one more option; that of these forums themselves (several web browsers include blue bars for loading and green ticks upon loading)
Thus he came alone to Angband's gates, and he sounded his horn, and smote once more upon the brazen doors, and challenged Morgoth to come forth to single combat. And Morgoth came.

I guess my riddle was a little vague. But it was the launcher as you guessed; however I had the loading screen in mind since I was downloading Book 13 at the time.

Someone else go; I'm at work at the moment and too busy to put serious thought into riddle-making! Perhaps tonight...

I know I haven't posted one in a while, and this one's a bit easy, but I've been kinda busy at work lately. I need a vacation *grumbles*
Never hoping,
Never resting,
Never eating,
Never seeing,
Halfway being,
The search, the need,
The punishment for greed,
The promise, the sin,
Mortality stretched thin.

Well a moon matches the middle three lines but past that: no idea, other than the quest of beren and luthien.

The light of drawing of the swords of the Noldor was like a fire in a field of reeds: and so fell and swift was their onset that almost the designs of Morgoth went astray.
Not moon... the answer is lore-based, by the way.

The nazgul!

Or gollum, he certainly has his share of not eating.

Ayup, you would be right HackernSlasher.. ahh e_h_b; Gollum fit's most of the lines but he certainly sees, and hopes, and he never promised anyoneWhile all lines fit the RingWraiths perfectly..
Thus he came alone to Angband's gates, and he sounded his horn, and smote once more upon the brazen doors, and challenged Morgoth to come forth to single combat. And Morgoth came.

Ah well, now Hackern just has to post a riddle so I have something to ponder before I sleep.

Hey i havent checked out the thread in a while (havent posted since ppage 30) so i dont know if this riddle has been done b/c i didnt read 80 pages of riddles to find out
A circle of Blue
Stalwart as an adamant
of Celebrimdor's Craft
Its wielder hardly daft
A shaky alliance
Proud and Wise
Gentle and Fair
Yet Strong and Powerful
Decietful, Jealous and Power-hungry
An Orc of Great Command
War-Forger and King-slayer
Killer of Father and Victim of Son
Servant of the Dark Lord
A Crown At first
A crown of great Wonder
Yet a crown that held great malice
Forged in an iron prison
a prison its wearer destined to reside in
Hope you guys like my riddles all of them are lore based i think theyll be easy but i thought them off the top of my head
For The Riddle that was posted before mine i would have to say The "9 for the mortal men doomed to die" or Nazgul or Ring-Wraiths

Perhaps Nenya, the Ring of AdamantA circle of Blue

This makes me think of the alliance between Saruman and Sauron, but the third line makes me reject it. Maybe Doriath and Noglond, but I doubt it... I don't know...A shaky alliance

Just a formality, but yes, Hackernslasher got it right, Nazgul it is
EDIT: And I agree with LA's analysis of the next four riddles, including the fact that I have no idea about the second, heheh
