    Middle-earth Feedback: Farmer Sandson

Farmer Sandson has a respectable farm in the Delving-fields between Michel Delving and Waymeet. While he tends a few modest fields, his pride and joy are his chickens, especially his prize hen Billina, and the chief rooster George.

I did one of his quests a while ago and got the Serene Stew recipe... now the proper award of a boiled eggs recipe is being given out... am I just out of luck if I want to have that recipe?

I coulda sworn the Serene Stew came from one of the cooking craft quests. Checking the lorebook, the only recipe you get from Sanderson is the boiled egg recipe.

There should be more talk of Farmer Sandson amongst some of the NPCs, especially M.Delving or Waymeet. It's way to easy to completely bypass his farm because no quests direct you to go there.

Perhaps after getting the first Bounder quest in M.Delving, the Sherriff could suggest going over there. Maybe something like, "Farmer Sandson thought he heard some wolves rustling about his prized chicken coops, as your first order of official Bounder duty, could you go over and talk to him? Blah, blah,(directions to Sandson Farms).

After arriving, Farmer Sandson could say they managed to run the wolves off but since you're here, I have this delivery....etc, etc

That introduces Sandson Farms into the flow more directly without disturbing the flow of any other quests.

His farm is part of the "Farms of the Shire" deed, so folks doing that deed should be looking for it. Honestly though, I did just stumble across it the first time cutting cross country between MD and Hobbiton.
I like the NPC pointers, though. Holly Hornblower and Granny Whats-her-name in Tuckborough should both point you in his direction.

I agree that people who actively look at thier Deed list might notice the Farms of the Shire Deed not being complete. The probability though is that by the time someone even notices this, all quests at Farmer Sandson's will have gone grey.

The 2 egg run quests from Farmer Sandson and the pre session-play quest(s) from his son are intended to be done early in the questing life of a hobbit. Currently the only people getting the proper level XP from those quests are those players who accidently happen to stumble upon the Sandson Farm early on. That's my reasoning for early NPC pointers because when I started playing hobbitses in the shire, my first toon accidently came upon the farm, my second and third toon completely missed it until much later and I wondered to myself about how many other people that had happened to.
