How do you make a chart in the Lorebook?

I have only edited once. So I need some help to make some charts.
I don't know how to nake a chart in the lorebook or even if it can be done.

The purpose of the charts/guides are to compare incompareable items (joke intended)
At first I just made the chart on paper but then thought if I am going to do all that work why not make it avaliable to everyone. I am new to creating Lorebook/wiki pages any help well be appreciated, I need to know:

1. How to make links to other articles, as in (item name here) links to the page to that item on the lorebook.
2. How to make charts to compare the items
3. How to start a new page
4.How to make thoughs links to related pages at the bottum of the page.

I really want to make this if its possible so any help is welcome.
I was supprised there is no guide to lorebook entries, may some one so post a guide in this forum.

Wikipedia's help section http://en.wikipedia.org/Help:Contents has all the info you will likely need on how to create wiki content. You also can use some html in creating content as well if you know html. If you would like advice on certain things once you have taken a look at that info over at wikipedia feel free to reply in your thread here. Creating a new page is as simple as entering the title for the page in search and clicking the link to create the page. The page name should be meaningful to the content of the page. If you would like let me know what your thoughts are on a title.

If you are looking to make a chart you would probably want to use a table.

Making wiki tables is very easy and they are useful for lots of things.

Here is the most common one I use. This is what it looks like ( I know it is in the DDO Compendium but it will look the same in Lorebook. )

{| This tells wiki that you are starting a table.

border="1" cellpadding="4" style="background:black; color:gold" this defines what you want your to look like. This one has a black background with gold writing.
|- This starts a new row
| is the first column in the row
|| separates the columns in a row
|} this closes the table.

You can visit this to learn more about adding tables like centering them, controling cell width or adding headers.

Linking is fairly simple as well you can read about it here

The best advice I can give is that if you see a page you like edit it to see the wiki code and use that as a guideline!

How do you charge the name of a page?
I wanted to rename the page "Tables Index", or something like that to make it an index to link to all the charts on the lorebook.

How do you add a link to something under the line at the bottum? Can't seem to figure it out.
I want to add a link to my chart to the pages for each item in the set.

How many different charts are there? The couple you have done so far are small so it seems to me a single page is all that would be needed. The page could be setup like so:

==Level xx Armor Sets==

===Such and Such Set===

===This and That Set===

==Another Type Armor Sets==

===Neat Set===

===Another Neat Set===

chart here

To give you a rough idea. Then the page would be named something like Armour Comparison Charts.

The first page was a practice for me. I am doing one for the loremaster end game sets and hope do all the classes. I was hopeing what I have done would inspire others to do like wise with of items and sets.

It was not easy learning how to do those charts from scratch and getting all that info together. *rubs aching fingers* Just hope it was worth it.

Looking good so far. Seems you have gotten the hang of chart creation. A small suggestion for cleaning up the chart a little bit on the boxes where more than one line is used to display the info.

Abbreviate the following a provide a key at the top or bottom of that chart:

TC = Tactical Crit
TCD = Tactical Crit Damage
ICMR = In-Combat Moral Regen
LSRT = Lightning Storm Recovery Time
SLPC = Storm-lore Power Cost
DSC = Disperse Shadow Chance
TW-CHC = Test of Will Critical Hit Chance
TW-RTR = Test of Will recovery time reduced by
BFRC = Blinding Flash Resist Chance

This reduces that columns page real estate. The key can be a 3 x 9 chart titled key.

This can be done like so:

For Raiment of the Seven Stars create new lines for some of the fields.

For example instead of this:
685/set(7)withCloak of the Seven Stars809

Use this:
685/set(7)<br>809 with Cloak of<br>the Seven Stars

which will display the cell as:
685/set
809 with Cloak of
the Seven Stars

That should help make the info easier to read. Otherwise things are looking real nice.

I'm going to help you out a bit with linking on your charts. There are a few things that don't need to be links. And i have created a page to point to for the different stats. Which to link to the section of the page uses a different style link.
