When I go to any page in the Lorebook (even the home page) IE 7 hits 100% CPU usage and stays there. It takes up to 20 seconds to click on a single link. Browser lag of this kind equals a broken site. Not just annoying but virtually unusable.
When I leave the Lorebook site everything returns to normal and IE drops to about 2-8% CPU usage.
Happens on all my home computers and my work computer too.
All computers that I've seen this on are running XP SP3 with all the current updates and drivers while logged in as Administrator.
What is the Lorebook doing that causes IE 7 to max at 100% CPU?
Haven't been able to reproduce this behavior though I have yet to find a SP3 machine available. Haven't heard of anyone else reporting this either. Can you provide a full rundown of specs:
* Full browser version
* Made any changes to the default IE/internet settings?
* Full OS version (XP Pro? Home?)
* Anti-virus program/version
* Firewall(s)?
* Filtering software?
* Any other plug-ins, browser toolbars, etc. that might be in between your browser and the net?
Again, can't reproduce the issue here (or on my home machines either), but we'll try to mimic your environment as best as possible and see if something shakes free. If you do have any browser toolbars, plug-ins, etc. running, try disabling them when hitting the Lorebook. You can also see if clearing your browser cache helps; might be a stale file in there causing an issue.
