The tension is getting horrible... GOOD FRIENDS ARE QUITTING AND EVEN DELETING: we need an update to the game soon.

    When is book 7?

    Thanks in advance.
Hey rugzug and others with the same attitude,

Please try and relax... I am sure the devs are working hard on this. The list keeps growing regarding the changes that are already set up for bk7. If people are that impatient and freaking out that much over the current state of pvp jsut know its been worse (maybe)... If they are deleting their toons because of this then ... well w/e...

As said a few posts ago... Turbine will release bk7 when its ready. Until then tell your friends to get the freeps out and do some content in the rest of the game ... or... learn how to fight in postMoM pre-bk7 moors.

We all know it sucks, but it is what it is atm.

Can you really blame some people for being a little impatient? Yes, we all know it sucks, its been running on total suckage for about 3+ months now though, and there still isn't word of a release date for book 7. Now, I for one would prefer that they make it good than rush it out, but technically it is their fault in the first place for messing it all up, even though I know it was not their intention. As such, I will probably continue to be sore about it until I finally experience the fixes, and I don't blame anyone else for doing the same.

If someone stuck a knife in my foot, I probably wouldn't stop screaming or swearing until they took it out and fixed it up, I wouldn't be happy cheery because they promised to take it out eventually.

I think the problem here is you are confusing a game (lotro) with real life (stabbing your foot). Since it is a game and not real life I think you can deal with it a little while longer and make sure they get everything right. The monster play changes might be done but there is a lot more to book 7 than monster play.

Sums it up well. Some need to support their fellow players instead of always defending Turbine.

    Re: Upcoming Changes to PvMP!

I just want to see a finalized list of changes that will effect pvmp, and a release date for book 7. The rest of the game is pretty fixed up it seems to me, and its still receiving more updates in book 7, i am sure.

It is a good chance that the book 7 pvmp changes will not be enough to balance things, since they still have not addressed unequal balances in abilities offered to the 2 sides of the conflict:

    - Freeps will probably still have way more CC options than Creeps, and each Freep has some form of immobilizing CC. Warleader does not have a single form of CC, not even a slow.
    - Freeps will probably still have more healing than Creeps, every Freep class can out-heal their Creep counterpart. Most creeps can not heal themselves without potions, which freeps also have.
    - Freeps will probably still have higher damage than Creeps, every Freep class can hit for as much or more than a Reaver's(Creep DPS class) max damage hit.
    - Freeps will probably still have more AoE options than Creeps. While most Creeps AoE, if they have any at all, is basically worthless and bugged.
    - Freeps will probably still be set up to manage PvE better than Creeps, so they can handle taking on keeps, outposts and delving much easier and faster. While Creeps get a few skills (ex: Wrath), that are just for PvE, but are not given all the options needed for a smoother fight.
    - Freeps will probably still have the option to not PvP until they are strong enough to compete, where Creeps must PvP to skill up at all.
    - Freeps will probably still get more renown than Creeps will get infamy-- even if just because of the previous point: Unskilled low level(rank) Creeps are forced to throw themselves at the Freeps, in order to skill up. It is not too often(never) Creeps see raids of lvl 40s attacking them, for similar results.

Just a few points I wanted to mention.

    thx

I think the problem here is that you assume that physical pain is worse than psychological pain. If a loved one dies, is that not a worse pain than a stomach ache? My example is extreme, perhaps, but it's to clearly illustrate the point for you. People have invested a lot of real life time into their characters, so when they feel they've been cheated out of the reward they expected (a fun experience, hope for the future, etc.), they are pained.

The problem for most of us is not that it's taking forever, but that we know from the last 2 years there's little chance they will "get everything right" even with the extra time. It was their fault things got messed up, and we should have had hotfixes twice a week for however long it took to make things better.

Don't you see what's going on here? They're giving us bug fixes in place of content updates! Instead of a new PvP zone, we'll have a shorter burrow animation. Instead of more customisability for our characters, we'll be getting the crits for healing that freeps have had since day 1. Forgive us for being cynical.

So now a game is being compared to losing a loved one? Look seriously man if this game is causing you the same amount of pain as losing a loved one because you died a couple times in the moors you need to seek immediate help.

You are still confusing real life with a game. You wont die irl if you die in the game Just relax they are putting it out as fast as they can making all these outlandish comparisons to real life issues just makes you look foolish. Waiting on book 7 is not the same as losing a loved one or even losing your car keys.

I think your problem is the failure to contemplate analogies. Of course this isn't as bad as getting stabbed in the foot, however, that does not make the reaction to it any less justified. We were wronged with this expansion, as a result we are pissed off. Just because someone says we will make it all better soon, does not mean that we are going to be happy until the fixes get here.

And I am not calling for the fix to come any sooner than it should, but I am saying that alot of people won't be happy until they get here.

We don't need to support creeps, they're only an insignificant 10% of the player base!

And as much as I'm on your guys side, those analogies were bad. Being killed in a game isn't psychological pain....it's just frustrating. You can choose to get up and walk away from the game while it's much more difficult to do that with real psychological pain

I was stating a rational common sense viewpoint based on some (albeit limited) experience in online game development. It would be really really bad from Turbine's point of view to even unofficially give a release date if they were not 120% certain they could make it.

I don't see how backing someone up who I feel is making unreasonable demands to be the better course of action. That in no way means I don't want book 7 to be released sooner rather than later--it just means that a) I want it correct and finished, and b) I understand why Turbine can't give us a release date.

I had to go look at what you posted in this thread to try and find what you were talking about. I finally realized my post was not referring to you in anyway since I was replying to someone else who was commenting someone that was not you. I never thought your comments we're wrong.

Based on what data? You're pulling out whatever info you want to support you claims. Just because one side has more of "X" than the other, doesn't mean it becomes unbalanced. You have no idea what the full impact of the changes will be so really, you're just speculating - and complaining about your own speculation. Just be patient my friend, let's wait and see.

He never said that your statements were wrong, just that they are a speculation--which they are. Regardless of the reasons or the relative possibility of the accuracy; You have not seen the full update in real world use, therefore it is still your opinion based on theory.

    Speculation
    n.
      1. Contemplation or consideration of a subject; meditation.
      2. A conclusion, opinion, or theory reached by conjecture.
      3. Reasoning based on inconclusive evidence; conjecture or supposition.
The whole point being, relax. The update is coming, they have already announced more changes to MP than in any previous book and they have basically said more is in the works. Lets see what book 7 actually brings before we declare it a failure.

Never claimed to be better, only thing I'm asking is that let's wait and see how Book 7's changes affect PvMP before continuing your tireless protests. I don't need facts to say "wait and see". A "good chance" is nothing more than a chance, could be a "good chance" that many issues are addressed. I'm not flaming you Rug, we all need each other on both sides to have any form of PvP. If it's that bad right now, just don't play - nothing is going to suddenly change and we all know it, that's why there will be a book 7. I don't even bother going on my freep because it's way too easy, plain and simple. I go on my creep because it's a heck of a challenge. When I get tired of it, I just go do something else.

"a good chance" is a variable at best... if i declared it a failure, i woulda said that.

Sorry to break up the pointless discussion but I must once again ask for some info about weavers. Jalessa, you got my hopes up last week as I thought the miind control was going to work. Apparently, there are those amongst you with much stronger powers than me. *Think weaver*

Yes, I would love to see an update for: weavers, blackarrows and warleaders.

Also any other general changes that may be occuring. (good and bad)

If you've noticed, the devs have been updating this thread on a weekly cycle. One week from 2/5/09 (the date of the last update) is February 12 (Thursday, or two days from today). So I think you'll be seeing the next update then.
