Question Please help solve this mystery -- Improved Sticky Gourd

Background: My LM just got to 65, she's been relegated (unfortunately because I really enjoy playing LM) to third on my list. My main is a hunter, and my minstrel is sort of a second main. I remember doing my lvl 58 LM class quests, and I was sure I had done the final quest, defeating Ruingal in The Forges.

I was looking at her traits, thinking about retraiting (I've been running a hybrid build that has suited my usual questing mode as a duo, and occasional forays into Moria and SH instances) and suddenly realized that Improved Sticky Tar has a ring, which indicates that I am still earning that trait.

So I confirmed this trait comes from the class quest line, checked my quest log, and I have no pending lore-master quests. I checked the completed log, and checked all the quests in the quest line. The one that seems to deal with the final quest (defeating Ruingal) is checked completed: Light of the Rising Dawn, although earning the trait is NOT listed as one of the rewards.

So, these things I have checked: LM trainer has no further quests, I have no current LM quests in my log, and the quest-giver in Waterworks (Winiel) has nothing to say to me, not even quest comments to indicate that I haven't finished anything.

    What am I missing?

It occurred to me that possibly I DID defeat Ruingal, but somehow neglected to loot something off the corpse. But in that case, shouldn't Winiel say she's still waiting for me to bring her said object? (A book apparently, no idea why that would not burn up in a Fire-Grim's possession.)

I went to the campsite outside the Forges, and I was able to pick up the quest to aid a fellow Lore-master, which implies that I have finished the quest.

Another thought was that this is just a glitch, and if I retrait to five of the napalm line, it might then show as available, but this would cost money, and I really want to trait the Ancient Master line. Also, this legendary skill doesn't even show as a greyed out option as another of the capstone legendaries does.

Any thoughts would be most welcome. I feel like it's something stupidly simple, but I am unable to think of what it might be.

Re: Please help solve this mystery -- Improved Sticky Gourd

Force of Will Your Sign of Power: See All Ends magnitude has increased. This also increases the duration of Fire-lore, Sign of Power: Command, Sign of Power: See All Ends, and Ancient Craft.
    +30s Duration
-[Level x 20] Critical Hit Chance

Requires: 5 traits in The Ancient Master line slotted.
58 Complete the deed The Path of the Ancient Master

The Secret of Tar Your sticky tar and sticky gourd inductions are reduced.
    -.5s Sticky Tar Induction
?? Strike with Sticky Tar 250 times

Improved Sticky Gourd This trait makes your Sticky Gourd into a lasting AOE hotspot. Requires: 5 traits in Master of Nature's Fury line slotted.
None Complete The Mines of Moria epic books

So, I am a little confused, because you're title is about the gourd which is the capstone Master Of Nature's Fury which you get when you complete all of book 6. You must complete 2.6.8, then the follow up talk to that up with talking to the elf in the flet near Echad Andestel? Cant remember his name sorry. Until you do that you won't receive the trait for Improved Sticky Gourd.

Improved Sticky Tar is an Ancient Master Trait, which as noted above is using sticky tar 250 times. Why it might not be showing in your deed log I dont know, and I'd suggest you bug it since the trait log is showing greyed out. Only thing I can think of is that you didn't purchase sticky tar from your class trainer. Might want to check there first. Sticky tar is used for slowing mobs, and aiding with fire attacks. I seldom see this used as a CC option, rather it's more common with people that trait 5 in Master of Natures Fury as it can add to the fire damage caused by Improved sticky gourd's AoE damage.

The Class Line Quest you are referring to at the Forges is not for tar, but for Force of Will, the legendary trait for the Ancient Master Line. This line deals primarily with your debuffs and crowd control. Once you have done this quest the only way to do it again is by helping another LM do their quest. And the reward for a repeat is Marks only. So check and verify that you have Force of Will, which I'm guessing you do, if not, there are quite a few quests you need to do to even activate the quest called The Path of the Ancient Master. I thought the quest came from the trainer...but in your quest log it should be listed under Lore Master category.

The third Legendary trait was a book purchased from the Moria Guard Reputation Barterer. This is the Keeper of Animals trait for the Bog Lurker Pet. You need reputation to use the book, cant remember if its kindred or not. The book costs 2g 500s if I remember correctly.

Maybe I have switched where these are obtained, One is a class quest, one is from the rep guy in 21st hall, and one is from finishing book 6 of vol 2.

Here's the Wiki trait site for Lore Masters. For some reason the Lorebook is lacking information and only lists 4 legendary traits, so I wouldnt bother checking the lorebook. Hope I answered the question(s). As I mentioned I wasn't quite sure what the question was.

Class quest is definitely Force of Will, and Epic is definitely Napalm.

Red face Re: Please help solve this mystery -- Improved Sticky Gourd

I was indeed talking about Improved Sticky GOURD, and it must be because I never finished book 2.6.8. So that's my answer, and thanks to all.
