    No mini buffs for soldiers?

I'm currently doing solo skirmishes at 37 and don't want to go the Warspeech route (although I'll likely try that later). I'm playing around with Protector of Song traits.

However, I was disappointed to find that some of the buffs don't affect my soldier:
    * Tales of Heroism or Battle
    * Songs of Vigour or Balance (with Smooth Voice trait)
Other buffs that do affect my soldier are Tier 3 ballads, Anthem of the Free Peoples, and Inspire Fellows.

Does anyone know if this is intentional, or likely to change soon?

In the meantime, I'll try teaching my soldier how to play Cowbell. Hope I have better luck with that....

It's always been give or take whether or not our buffs would affect a NPC, before skirms all we really had to go off of was NPC's connected to us or our fellowship in quests and the book lines. It was always off and on from my recollection.

I would assume the devs just didn't give us the ability to buff the npcs unintentionally, but idk. Maybe file a bug?

I remember many moons ago a dev commenting that the NPCs do not have character sheets like we do.

So the captain +morale % will work, but any buff with +to base stats (ie VIT) will not work. The NPCs do not have Vit/Will/Fate/Mig/Agi.

So I suppose using the above logic any buff that does not stick does not have an NPC stat to affect. The -inc dmg from Inspire is sad as it seems a general % -/+ should stick to the NPC.

The only buff that we give our soldiers is Ballad of War
    Nevanna~Lynxa~Amasal~Lagurtha~ Hybiscuits

You can buff your soldier with AotFP, BoWar, BoUWill, and BoFlame. I don't recall GotH, but I think that works too.

Oops.... my fault... it turns out that the buff from Inspire Fellows does apply. I was mistaken when, in my original post, I stated that the healing applies but not the buff. In reality, both healing and buff apply.

So what you say makes sense.... the Vit/Fate/etc. buffs from the Tales or the traited Songs of Vigour and Balance don't apply because they can't apply, since soldiers don't have Vit/Fate/etc.

Even though it makes sense, I still don't like that I can't buff my soldier, but it looks like I'll just have to deal with it. But at least now I know why. Thanks!
