    Talking E3 2010 News Thread.

Ok since we were told that there would be some kind of announcement (or an announcement of an announcement) at E3. I just thought I would open a thread for people to place any news, or rumers from E3 this week.

To be honest, I guess I am making this thread so I can get some info since there are a lot of people on these forums that are news hounds. So thanks in advance to anyone who can share some info.

One of the devs in blue already stated that the announcement was F2P, no further news is expected. They never said they would time that news with E3.

^^^ This sorry to say that any hope of and expansion announcement will have to wait till next year, seem to remember reading somewhere that when DDO first went f2p they went a year without seeing any updates (guessing due to bug fixes from going with a new model), after that first year however they saw 6 that is SIX updates the following year, so if things look gloomy just have faith in knowing that.

WB is going to E3, at least Snowblind studios will be there for War In The North. Anybody know if WB is going to have an official conference that will be aired? (like Sony, Microsoft, Ubisoft, EA etc), and if so what time?

Also while I was hoping for an announcement on the new mmo that has been in production, I do not see that happening at E3 as it would take away from the lotro f2p hype that is sure to be there. Is there another PAX this year, if so maybe they will announce it then.

I don't think that f2p is ALL the news fro LOTRO.

There is still Enedwaith and possibly something else.

Correct. We will be showing LOTRO with Free-to-Play to the press at E3.

According to his twitter, Adam Mersky is already at E3 representing Turbine. Dont know if Turbine has their own booth there or if its just an informal thing.

We need to accept that we're not getting any substantial new content for a long time. Turbine is focused on their business model, not their customer base.

Join the rest of us in making the obvious decision -- do we stay and wait to see what eventually comes, or do we go find another place to relax?

    Re: E3 2010 News Thread.

No LOTRO announcements at E3 according to this post:
    http://forums.lotro.com/showpost.php...2&postcount=10

However, I imagine they will be announcing the new MMO that they are working on, probably on the 16th as that is when beta starts.

Spike TV has Microsoft's press conference live at 1:30 PM EST and http://www.gametrailers.com is doing video coverage of the event.

You can also watch the conference here: http://www.gametrailers.com/e3/livefeed/microsoft

Pre-show starts at 1:00 PM EST.

then again, this just might be a ploy to make us think that nothing else is coming, LotRO devs are a clever sort, they think they can hide stuff from us, but we know better.

EA's press conference is at 5:00 PM EST, Ubisoft's is at 8:00 PM EST today.

Nintendo is Tuesday at 12:00 PM EST, Sony is 3:00 PM EST. Project Natal (Kinect) is at 7:00 PM EST.

No schedule info for WBIE, unfortunately. Maybe some from Turbine can chime in and let us know when WBIE will make their announcements...?

Will you ONLY be showing it to the press? No demos of it on the showroom floor?

    Re: E3 2010 News Thread.

What doesn't add up or make sense to me is, if its free to play then why show it? (in my mind at least) it doesn't seem that hard to tell what f2p will look like why talk about it to the press, those people want to hear big news (though f2p is big news, what else?), now what would make sense to me is what is in that model that they want to announce, we don't have all the details and we know that turbine wants to relaunch, well would it be nice to launch with a big expansion? that would seem press worthy, but maybe they want to keep their announcement about what they are giving to us in that f2p model secret until its closer to announcement to ensure that it will be ready for launch, perhaps they learned something from giving out to much information to soon like with the moria x-pac (you all remember those raids and land promised to us right?) that they don't want that to happen again.

I hoped for something more substantial on future plans. Going on - what, seven months with no new content? Harumph.

Well, at least the release for Fallout: New Vegas was announced (19 Oct). Some good news....

yeah this is getting pretty discouraging..

I'm starting to see a trend where Turbine is giving false information and tripping over themselves. I remember marketroid spacifically saying after the "ever so good" WB takeover, that no major changes to the game will be done(the thread has "mysteriously" dissapeared)...and low and behold...F2P comes a long. that didnt really bother me too much until all this lack of updates and lack of communication about all the changes.

And I do as well remember them saying there would be a big announcement at E3...being that the F2P was the big announcement (whoopty F'ing doo), I guess we are just going to be drudging around in the same raids, same skirmishes(snore) and the same PvP issues for the next 6 months to a year unless they are hiding stuff

I know that I am playing with fire here, but... why in the name of you know who should people stay and play when the content is stagnant? I mean, how long has it been since Mirk? Are we supposed to stay and pay out of the kindness of our hearts? Well, I suppose there is F2P, but for some of us, that is NOT an option.

There's a bit of misinformation in your comment here - DDO Went F2P around... September of 2009. Since then there's been a ton of updates (I don't know how many). So there's no way they could have gone a year without any updates... since it hasn't even been a year that they have been F2P.

So.. perhaps things look even a bit less gloomy? =)
