    No lotteries next week?

    Hmm.

    http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...62#post4930662

    Says:
"Weekend lotteries are back! Win Assoted Tokens, Pipe Weed, Beer, Wine, Skirmish Marks and Symbols of Celebrimbor! Log in to my.lotro.com and visit your character page to enter! It's your last chance to win before Free to Play launches!"

Does this just mean it is the last Weekend lotto? Or the last lotto period, in which case nothing until Sept 8? Or maybe it is sly confirmation of the rumor (http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=351775) that lottos are mostly mythical, and though there will be lottos next week *you* do not in fact have a chance to win them

Another question, does "Assoted" have to do with being drunk/stoned, and hence the link to Weed, Beer, and Wine?

    Re: No lotteries next week?

The next two weeks are going to be really crazy around here!

    • PAX Prime starts next Friday and quite a few of us are going (Come say HI!).
    • Free to Play launches on the 10th (8th for Subscribers).
    • There are a lot of changes coming for the community sites (you're going to like them!)

With all of this and more going on, the lotteries are likely to run up against a lot of downtime, server config changes, updates, and heavy loads. Rather than risk players losing items or lotteries not going off as planned for whatever reasons, we've decided to postpone additional lotteries until things calm down a bit.

They aren't going away forever, just for a few weeks. Duwis has assured me that, once things settle down, we'll have all sorts of shiny new lottery tools to work with and possibly some of the changes you've been asking for. Not to mention items from the LOTRO Store will be added to the lotteries!

Very cool, Sapience! Hopefully I'll be able to win my first lottery before they close for a while *crosses fingers*

Would love to see store items in the lottery! Emotes, clothing, etc...

Thanks for the update. New shinys are always a good thing.

Not bad actually. My characters have won a number of fairly nice things, and a lot of things I can sell for cash. But don't expect to win the best stuff, they are rare, just like most lotteries in real-life. Just be persistent in entering.

Excellent news regarding the Lotteries! My wife is new to the game, and is very keen to play the lotteries more, once they return.

Good to know! I had not seen the thread about the lotteries being discontinued for a while, so this explains my inability to enter for the last few days

Sigh at lotteries, i have not won a good thing, i was hoping to win some good stuff from the last lottery, but alas as i knew.... my luck has failed me again as time and time again shows, i only won a few drinkable cups of wine... umm hooray ?? unlike sum people who i kno win over and over again or they win multiple good things across characters on one account, the only good thing i ever won was maybe a tier 8 relic or two but i couldn't use them and that was like 2 months ago
just proves to show what the game has become, just a big fat lottery

It's too bad that the lotteries are gone for awhile, as I really enjoy them but it's good that they're going to be worked on! :]

After having some glitch invalidate the only decent win I have had, after entering them as often as possible for months. I must say I hope they stay gone for a while. Be nice if they could rectify the glitch to the lottories that occured last week. As it would have been a real treat to win some nice stuff, since my luck with rolls for items is horrific.

All I know is your odds of winning a Welcome Wagon lottery are going to be horrendously bad for a while

Count me as another player who's happy the lotteries will be back.

I really enjoy the lotteries. They're a great addition to the game, and they're a way we can stay connected to the game while at work.

Theoretically, of course. I would never visit game sites during work hours. Really.

I think it's safe to say that only VIPs will be able to enter and win the lotteries. So your odds of winning the welcome wagon lotto won't change too much.
