Why no Grand Master Scholar's Journal

There are Grand Master Journal recipes listed in the Lorebook for Jeweller, Metalsmith, Weaponsmith, Tailor and Woodworker. Why no Scholar's Journal? Or is that something I just haven't found yet?

I don't think they exist. The only use I could think of would be to raise the odds of critting on making a Grand Master journal for another profession.

You could use them for improving crit chance on any Master Scholar recipe, couldn't you?

They'd likely be limited to use with scholar one-shot recipes. Standard recipes would have a more common lamp or candle as a crit component. Since the only scholar one-shot recipes that I can think of at the master level are more grand master journals it would be an expensive proposition using one to increase the odds of crafting 2 journals. I'd expect that the recipe would require a beryl shard.

Scholars have no need for them since we are the ones that craft the grand master journals to begin with... There's nothing we make that has a need for them. Unless they come out with 65 1st age weapons or something, like use a grandmaster scholar jounal for the 65 2nd age recipie to crit a 1st age one .... then there might be a use for them, but I know it's wishful thinking.

you could make a journal to use as a crit item to make more journals to use as crit items to make even more journals.... ?

The journals are our only single use recipes.

Scholar is in a bad way right now. No one wants the journals much (guild crit for free on most items made). No one wants potions either, an hour a week doing feather repeatables is enough potions for anyone. We are reduced to selling dye (demand is low, supply is high, lucky to get a few hundred silver daily) and defense/offense scrolls (sell decently but are also mat-heavy to produce). We cannot bulk craft the best potions, and no one wants the rank down ones. This profession needs tweaked. (to put it in perspective, my wife sells leb fishing poles and makes more than I do with scholar sales, unless I unload a stack of mats which are decent money).
