    Over/Under 4pm EST

'World broadcast: 'The server is coming down for an update at 04:00 AM Eastern (-4 GMT). We expect it to be online approximately at 04:00 PM Eastern (-4 GMT). Please find a safe place to log out! Thanks for your patience during the downtime! '

So, over or under 4pm guys.

I'm going to say, under 4pm.

I'm just saying that out of pure gitty excitement! First thing I'm going to do is get my LUA scripts up and running

I'll go with the under as well, simply because in the past 3-1/2 years more often than not Turbine has overstated server downtime. Methinks I'll start checking server status around 2 Eastern . . . .

I am also saying under. Usually for these big-huge much-anticipated downtimes they give an ETA that is later than they actually expect it to be done.

I want to say and hope for under, but the way things have been lately, I wouldn't be surprised if it's well past 4PM.

over, but I'm a pessimist when it comes to computers and stuff related to them, they seem to go wrong just when every thing else seems fine.

What all of you don't know is that Turbine actually finished at 5 am EST. Now they're just all huddled around a computer or 3 watching the forums for our posts so they can laugh at us. Kind of like waiving a donut in front of a hungry man who likes donuts but not letting him have it for 12 hours.

Over - The patch notes haven't been released yet, and they will be at least a 12 hour read. Turbine has entered a timing lock on each computer requiring the patch notes to be open that long before allowing you to enter the worlds.

This is to prevent inane questions like

    'Where is Bilbo?'
    'Why can't I be Gandalf?'

    and

    'Where is the Batcave'?

While Turbine has been great at being under on server maintenance and upkeep and the smaller updates, on the major ones they are usually over. There's also good reasons they didn't put that 4pm in the announcements on the forums.

If anything I'm hoping for 4pm on the 8th. Get it up and get it up right instead of having to take it down again and again like they had to do with Moria's release.

Or on Arkham Island, awfully convenient if you happen to be stuck there and the Joker has taken over the asylum

Sorry guys, I think the GM on-shift last night misunderstood the timing of the downtime. We're working as quickly as we can, but we haven't set an official ETA for uptime.

What's the plan? Have the servers up ASAP? Or have them flicker to life around midnight because the headstart is supposed to be on the 8th?

I think over. It doesn't make sense that it would come open until around Midnight tonight because if it did then the head start would happen on the 7th rather than the 8th. That would be fine with me but I don't think it makes sense. I believe that whatever happens Turbine wants to have the servers on by midnight tonight so that it will begin on the 8th.

hmm no official ETA on the servers coming up,( only official word is the 8th (with a think a mention of a chance of being able to patch or log in a bit earlier if things go extra smoothly) what an ETA about full patch notes being released/published? can we get an "as soon as possible" AKA "it might have already happened", or are patch note incredisoon?

If they're up and running without having to be taken down again to fix major glitches by midnight on the 8th, we'll be lucky.
