    Paging Raskolnikov

Seeing as Month of the Lore-Master is coming up, or so the Devs mentioned in the WarCry Dev Chat, it would be nice to get an update from a Dev(Raskolnikov) about the upcoming changes.

Raskolnikov: Mostly buffs! I can't speak to specific changes for the Minstrel (as we haven't gotten to that class yet). But having made a lot of changes to the Lore-master, I can say that 90% of those changes have been buffs. Our goal is to polish each class, and nearly all of the time when we polish it's by buffing a class (because nerfing stinks, even though it is sometimes necessary).

I speculate the 90% may be a bit off, but I certainly welcome the change. If it is anything like the Hunter/Captain changes, the LM community should be happy.

Possibly more CC? More debuffing? New flanking response abilities?

I personally would like to see a pet addition that was geared towards tact classes more like the bear(+10% melee/ranged), and bog lurker (+ranged crit chance). Or changes/additions to the pets skills that exist.

Would be happy with animation root fixes (like minies got), a rework of the induction system, and proper scaling of skills/tact crit chance.

I would really like some more flank options
Now its heal or if traited stun
While I like heals if your using an eagle or bog lurkers you get so many flank you really don't need them. Not to mention if you get a flank as soon as the fight starts

I'm happy as a hunter w/ the changes, but I hope our 'changes' are above and beyond (2) new skills and the addition of an interrupt to a melee skill.

We're ALOT better off than before, don't get me wrong, but things like Fleet Stance and the glaring "Improved" penetrating shot are pretty lol. And by lol, I mean:

and yes, I did just situationally quote you to support my own dastardly and nefarious goals. But that's how we roll in the hunter forums.

Although I am curious about the LM changes since I do have one (and she's ironically, my first toon.)

Oh yes, you bring up a good point. My biggest issue with LM's atm is their "Lack of Melee" skills or their "Lack of Tact Crit Passives". I am of the mind, if we have melee crit passives, we should have more than 1 melee skill. If we have a majority tactical damaging skills, we should have tactical crit passives. It seems logical to me.

    Edit:

With further Investigation it seem as though LM's may be a bit short in the Passives category. There are some arguments that could be made with this chart, but the general trend is shown. I also believe other debates could be made in favor of the Mini having tact crit passives, possibly tanks having ranged evade, etc...

    Decide for yourself:

It is understandable that Captain and LM are support classes, but isn't that determined in their skill set instead of their passives?

    Hey there.

We're still a ways out from the update so I'm going to keep the details under wraps for now, but it's safe to say that we responded to many of the suggestions in the Tell the Community thread for Lore-masters.

Also, I cleaned up the trait tooltips to display all of the stats they provide. "Beast-lore" is probably the best example, as it now shows exactly how your companion's stats are being increased.

A lot of people requested 3 things:

    - knockback skill
    - induction resist legacy or induction break immunity skill
    - the pet amulet thingy

If we get any 1 of these I'd be very very happy...especially the knockback skill that would be the greatest.

    hey now...hold the phone...

if anyone deserves a knockback skill, it should be shield-wielding guardians

Will wait for the Patch Notes/Dev. Diary, but was sort hoping that Hardy Bear(Pet) would be combined with Beast Lore and we would get a new trait in the KoA line. Hardy Pet (assuming -1 level pet) make Noble Savage less legendary.

But definitely like the tool tips being updated with what the actual impact is.

    Re: Paging Raskolnikov

Knockback is just too dangerous to be put in the hands of players unless they pre-calculate whether the mob would land in a place where it could quickly find its way back from. If it couldn't, it would need to resist the attack altogether to avoid bugging the system. And if it were introduced as something players could do, I don't think it should go to the LMs first. Rather, guards should get a single-target knockback, and champs an AoE knockback like in the Moria session play. I don't expect us to see that one anytime soon.

Pet customizations without the amulets would be a very good thing. (snow-lurker skin finally? /crossfingersandhope) Very curious to see what other things they've come up with for us.

    Thanks, Rask!

    Re: Paging Raskolnikov

Mobs should break their legs and "die" just like players. If I knock someone back off a cliff, it should kill them. Mobs of great size (most bosses and Gorothogs, etc.) should be immune to knockback. That would fix most of the problems with session play knockback too. If I knock something off the bridge of Khazad Dum, I expect it to die, just like I would if I were knocked off.
As a level 1 burglar, Bilbo got a pony when he joined the Smaug The Dragon raid. Then he asked for leadership, looted the chest, assigned himself the 1st age Arkenstone and mailed it to an alt (Bilbo's a VIP so can mail from anywhere). They did some PvMP and an Epic Battle, then he apologized and gave the Arkenstone back because it wasn't BoA. He kept the pony.

    Re: Paging Raskolnikov

The whole point of a knockback for LMs is to be able to get a skill off. As an induction class that needs to stop moving to do any type of meaningful damage...a knockback is clearly a worthy skill to have. Put it on a 10 minute CD just like our big heal. Its a joke when you get pounced from a single warg/spider/reaver that has stun immunity on and you cant get any skills off. All inductions are interrupted and you just sit there ready to throw the keyboard out the window. If you are gonna Nerf our CC - then a knockback skill or a induction interrupt immunity spell must also be a must.

In PvE land...any mobs that are currently immune to stun/mez would also be immune to knockback and any mobs that hit with knockback and fall off a cliff - would go into bug state and then return to original location. Same as it happens now when a mob is some place where he cant get to you. This is normal part of gameplay already.

Thanks for responding Rask. I'm stoked. Hope to hear more clues and tidbits soon.

That's awesome. Now I can have hardy pet and not be stuck with JUST the bear. This allows me to slot this rather than one of the heal traits (Light of hope or Healer).
Being that pets are our lifeline, this is a great help.

Great to hear...I hope for the passives and if even 1 of the below that I submitted was put in place, it would be nice. Also, would love a silencer for all the players out there who still say, "LMs are OP."

    Question 1

    1. Skill: Flood - Knock Back AOE Frost damage
    2. Skill: Doppelganger - Flash Spawn 3-5 versions of oneself that have high intense aggro but very high incoming damage (so they die quick). Perform same skill actions as real version until defeated, but deal less damage.
    3. Range Slot: Some craftable item that improves a trait line (ones that improve pet effectiveness, one that improves damage, one that improves power/defuff/group play)
    4. "Star-Lore": A Tactical Damage debuff (like fire-lore for melee, and wind-lore for ranged) and a pet to go with it or flank skill or just darn new skills for pets that improves it. Basically based off the First Age lamps set as protection against Morgoroth.

    Question 2
Pool A: Book: Induction Skill Modifier (shorten time)
