Return of the Lotteries Lottery!

Thanks for putting them back Turbine. I happend to win the first lottery I entered here! (Joined LOTRO in october)!

I didn't notice though until I logged in on my alt for the festival, so it might be good to send an email or something to the account of someone who won so they don't miss it. (Is there a notice in mylotro? I'm going to go check now, but I hardly ever use that)


Thanks for the prizes though!


Edit: Just checked, it is on mylotro (front page), and it turns out ANOTHER alt won as well (guess there must've been lots of winners? Or I'm just too lucky :3 heh). Might be nice for another kind of notification though, just an idea.

There is a lottery widget to add. Go to the main MyLOTRO page and see in the upper right hand portion of the main area is a button that says "more widgets".

You have 2 ways to find out you won.

1) check your my.lotro page
2) log your character(s).

If you can't do either of those then don't enter it. There is no need to notify people by email of their winnings. When it was running on a regular basis you get into the habit of going to that page to see if you win.

afaik the "return" lottery was a test. I'm sure we'll hear more about it next week or at the start of 2011.

100s, 5 Tomes of Burst Experience (+25% exp, +10% IXP for 30 min), green fireworks, red fireworks
(My second alt that won got 75 silver, but the same for the other items)

The tomes will be pretty handy!

That's true. I was looking at mylotro more just now, and it seems pretty neat. I just had never used it before except adding the lottery widget. Guess I don't really need the items that bad if I can't be bothered to check ;D

When silver is included in the Lotto, it will range between 50s-700s depending on your level.

It's in the Dev Tracker and everything. These are just small trial runs, so they don't last very long.

Wouldn't it look foolish if they made a bigger announcement and their tests failed?

This way, they got enough people to add the widget and test it out.

I'm sure once everything is running smoothly, there will be a real announcement and actual schedules will be established.

Yea I see now that the prize isn't much anyway, but seeing as I got screwed out of my winnings in the last big lottery before they stopped them, it bothered me more than it should have.

Actually Rflagg, I rather liked the prize for this lottery (I got 5 +exp/ixp tomes, 10 if you count my two wins).


ALSO: There was another announcement of the lottery somewhere else. I never read the linked thread, I saw a bunch of threads on it however when it was going on (it wasn't that long of a lottery, maybe a week or less?). I'm pretty sure there was a bigger announcement of it somewhere, I just can't remember where atm (due to my poor memory).

Me thinks RFlagg needs to take a chill pill. All you had to do was click on the dev tracker and see that they were doing a test run of the lottery. It was not an OFFICIAL return as it was a test. So I don't see why they would send out some HUGE announcement. I'm just sayin...

It's small and blends in with the background - but where the gray becomes light (2 lines below the green that says home announcements service news etc) at the far right it says "more widgets", click that. If you still can't find it let me know, I'll screenshot and point it out.

Thanks! The link helped me to see that the add widgets button really wasn't there! However, the comments on the bottom point out that IE has trouble with displaying the button. Sure enough, switching to Chrome I could see the button no prolem! Appreciate the help! Thanks!
