    Rep comments

When you give +/- rep to someone you can also leave a comment. I am new to the forum and after getting a few +rep I can see no comments in the "Latest Reputation Received list". Did these people simply leave no comment, or am I looking in the wrong place?

A fair number of people do not leave comments, just hit the add rep and move on.

    Re: Rep comments

The last time I wrote about the forums reputation system the thread was closed - still not entirely sure why. The thread still exists though and should contain the answers you're looking for. Here's a link to the thread to which I refer.

There's a little bit to read there so I'll just quote the relative bit...

As far as I know there's no pop-up (like there [used to be] for a PM) that lets you know you've received a comment. Instead you have to go back to the original post for which you received reputation. So how do you find them? Here's how...

When you get a rep bump from someone it appears in a list on your [My Forum Settings] page under the heading "Latest Reputation Received". Newest activity comes in at the top of the list. So, let's say you just checked your [My Forum Settings] page and found that someone gave you reputation because there's a new subject line at the top of the list. Click that subject line and it'll take you directly to the post for which you were given reputation. Once there, click on the "Reputation" link at the bottom of your post - as if you're going to give yourself reputation (this, of course, is not possible).

Now, when you click the "Reputation" link on your own post, it will pop up a message that tells you if you were given negative or positive rep for the post (not sure this part is working 100% yet), your total reputation and any "rep comments" that were left for you. How cool is that?
Note: My quote was cleaned up a little. The original thread was written prior to the forum redesign and some of the information is outdated. But the thread's locked and I can't update it.

I'll also give you a rep bump and leave a comment with it (which I almost always do) so you'll have something to find and therefore ensure that everything is working properly for you.

Edit: I just noticed that you seem to have reputation disabled. However, the comments should still show up normally.

Thanks very much TheREALify, worked just as you said. Though it is the oddest reputation system I have seen on a forum to date.

Aye, it's just not displaying my "rank" to the public so far as I know.
