    .NET Framework 1.1

    Hello,

After doing exhaustive research, estimated 10 hours of continuous research, I've decided to come here.

    System OS: Windows 7 x64
    RAM: 8 gigs
    Processor: Core i7
    Platform: Portable

After I installed Lord of the Rings Online, during the execution of the Program, Turbine's invoker informs me that I need to install .Net Framework 1.1. Well, oddly enough, it is installed. Because I manually installed it from the command prompt.

As you can see here: Microsoft's Framwork cleaning utility lists it.
As you can see here: LOTRO is still complaining

If my system were compatiable with XP pro, I'd use it and avoid this mess all together. However, I'm afraid it is not.

I'd really like to play this game with my Godmother and would appreciate any assistance. I'd absolutely hate it if I had to buy parts and build a desktop machine simply because of a .Net Framework issue.

As I said I've exhausted everything I know. I also followed this link(http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...lipstream-quot ) verbatim to no available success.

Thanks for any hints with this frustrating issue.

P.S I do not understand why LOTRO does not migrate to 3.5 or 4.0, I wish they would.

The cleanup utlity lists all versions even those you dont have... which includes .Net 1.1

You only have .Net 4 on your system. As shown in the background of the pic, showing the Add/Remove Program List

If you had .Net 1.1 it would also be listed as would all the .Net vers.

You need to check the Microsoft Download site for .Net 1.1 and any others you will need

    I fixed it! Yay!

I decided to give slipstream one more chance. But, instead of installing all .net frameworks. I just uninstalled them all, then only installed 1.1 via slipstream and it worked!

For those of you still having the problem, go here: http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.p...premium-64-bit

But, first don't forget to remove all the frameworks using Microsoft's tool: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/320112

And just install 1.1. Nothing more!

    Good luck.
