Begin a software developer, it's how I work. You release a functional stuff to the testers, you release a bunch of functional stuff as a beta, you release all the functional stuff as a final. I can only imagine Turbine using the same method.

Besides, it's one of the very few ways in which you can do proper alpha testing. If you give someone a toy and say "test this", they're going to come up with more suggestions or problems as they would when you dump a box of 20 toys on their desk. Test one toy properly, then test another properly etcetera (this is alpha testing, or initial testing). When done, you can give all of them a short revisit to see if you've missed something and get some kids in to play with them (beta testing). If no problems are found, ship it.

I'm sure the dev's cant comment because it would violate the NDA but I'm so curious what's on Palantir. It's not RoI beta so I wonder if it's content beyond that. ... But it's fun to speculate.

They probably watch the Hobbit while waiting for the devs to fix the last bugs in the Mount Doom raid.

Ryaehar put it well. It would be extraordinarily optimistic to think they've already moved on to Gondor, etc. Given the amount of content that they're (at least for now) advertising as being part of the RoI expansion, there's no reason to think they won't be testing it right up to the last week or two before it drops.

Invites are sent only when needed.

If you submitted an application since May, then it is still good.

When they send out invites, they post in this forum.

If you did not receive an invite, with in 24 hours of their announcement (check your spam filters and trash just in case), then you would need to resubmitt another application.

That is how I have seen the invites work. I have been lurking this thread since the beginning and have given up submitting applications. Not everybody is accepted, you lucky PiPs.

That should probably read that current applications are kept on file, as in anything after the dates that Kehleyr lists when she makes announcements about invitations going out.

If your sole purpose in applying for the PPP is to test content you specifically want to see, please don't apply and waste their time when there are applicants who are willing and eager to test whatever they're directed to.

Edit: To be clear, I'm not discouraging you from joining for a season to test ROI, but I am reminding you that this is a program that asks you to test specific things on a regular basis, not just show up and test whatever you feel like that day. [At least, this is the impression I've been given from various posts from QA folk]

We are currently still testing RoI, and will be for quite some time. If you're interested in testing at all, we encourage you to apply. Since Closed Beta is pretty much luck of the draw for you, an application to Palantir may be your only option.

Even if you only feel you would be contributing for the course of RoI and choose to leave once the expansion launches, your input would be just as valuable, and who knows? You may find you enjoy testing.

Yes, but your conditions are WAY too stict. Apperently, I am banned from any testing, because in my four years on these boards I once posted a post with a login problem twice. Once in four years.

Lame, very, very lame.

This means that people who are longer on these boards have less chance to become tester. And thus you will have more new people testing. And thus your testing is less good. Hence the many, many bugs that got through last time. Even a blocking one int he epic quest line !

I'm not sure why you believe this is the case. As posted in the FAQ:

Q: What is a "clean forum and game history"? Does this mean one can have no infractions whatsoever?
A: This means any marks or infractions that actually cause 'time out' from the forums or the game. So if you received points that actually caused a temporary banning. Even then, if you have suffered something like this and sincerely want to participate, go ahead and apply and explain the situation. We can see outside the box.

While I can't comment on specifics, we do not reject applications on the case of minor infractions such as what you have listed.
