When you have a holiday and plans to play the whole day and suddenly you learn that a maintenance is planned, you area little bit upset.

When you have a holiday and plans to play the whole day and suddenly you learn that a maintenance is planned, you area little bit upset.

The maintenance was announced on Friday...so what's the surprise? If you aren't logging in and seeing the announcement, there's a "Community Calendar" that includes the maintenance schedule.

(And, yes, one shouldn't post when angry. If one does, one should hit the preview button and look at what one has written to decide if one *really* wants to post it...or maybe some editing or even not posting all is in order.)

I was not taking the day off to celebrate anything. This day is a legal holiday. If I go to work this day the doors are closed.

I respect Mary and Jesus but beside that I pretty don't care about the Assumption in itself.

It's just than in my country nearly every holiday comes from the christian calendar. The Muslims, Jews and other people from other religion must take a leave from their pool of leaves.

And sorry about the swear which was hopefully removed by the moderators. When it happens to you another time, you are a little bit more upset and when it happens to you for the third time you become a little bit angry and it become difficult not to say big words. I should have waited a little bit to recover my temper.

You do realize that day isn't a legal holiday in most countries right? My son goes to a catholic school and he started school yesterday, on that feast day. So the liklihood that Turbine even knew some countries give that day as a holiday is pretty low.

Not sure that would be Turbine's issue.

If they sent an email to each and every player about the upcoming downtime, people would complain either that they don't read their email that often, or that they don't like being spammed, so that won't work. Plus, people use throwaway email addresses for free accounts, so they wouldn't get the emails.

It might be a good idea to get into the habit of checking the forums more than once in a while...

I'm just sayin'.

A periodic...say, daily...check of the Calendar would do the trick. Or do you want a personal phone call from a Turbine CSR the day before any scheduled down time on which you're planning to take the day off....?
